There exists a lot of hype about the health benefits of drinking alkaline. But on the other hand of the fence believe that it is all about the hype and what makes alkaline water so the special form is the regular variety because it has a higher ph level which means it is less acidic for drinking purposes.

And this acid is dangerous for the body because it makes sense to stay hydrated with water having a higher pH level. However, the benefits of alkaline water remain and are still hot. Especially there are some researchers and doctors who say that it is not efficient evidence to back its health claims.

In this article, we are going to have a look at some pros and cons of alkaline water. First, have a glance at a few advantages of alkaline water.

Pros of Alkaline Water

Absorbed more easily by the body

As you know that alkaline water is made up of small clusters of water molecules, it can be easily absorbed better by the body as compared to normal water. This quality means that water can be more hydrated since water passes it and out of cells more easily. It also means that toxins can be flushed out of the system.

Help the body manages acidity:

Alkaline water supposedly has a higher ph level and this can help balance out the acidity in the human body. Because it is also good for those who are suffering from acid reflux, diabetes, arthritis, cancer, and other chronic diseases spread by high acid levels.

Dissolve minerals easily:

Alkaline water has a better ph level and thanks to these dissolved minerals. Pure water also contains these kinds of minerals and that is why it has a higher pH level. The reason is that these balancing minerals can be absorbed by the body more easily.

To maintain leaching of alkaline minerals from tissues and bones can be prevented. As a result, it helps to prevent certain chronic diseases such as osteoporosis.

Improved hydration and antioxidative properties:

Many recent studies suggest that alkaline water can provide a better level of hydration than standard drinking water. Research shows that a study in the journal of the International society of sports nutrition observed that drinking alkaline water with a 10.0 ph level improves hydration in people and especially for skies over there who take it regularly.

Alkaline water has negative ORP levels and makes it antioxidative. Alkaline water also works well against free radicals which are oxidizing agents that can negatively affect long-term health.

Prevents bone loss and diabetes management:

Alkaline water could accelerate bone loss according to recent research. Peer reviews are also helpful to verify the results and further research is needed to determine whether alkaline water can affect bone’s mineral overall density.

Drinking water cannot permanently change body ph. Some researchers show that there are potential benefits of particular body metrics. One study in 2001 in China noticed that drinking alkaline water helped to decrease blood pressure.

Cons of alkaline water

Now let’s have a look at some cons of alkaline water.

No official studies that can back its health benefits:

Proponents of alkaline water may take it as a natural remedy for a variety of health conditions and illnesses. Moreover, there exist no official scientific studies that have been released to date associated with health benefits. Others people argue that if you just keep yourself hydrated well with normal water and eat a healthy diet, you will achieve similar results as taking water having higher alkaline levels.

Requires special filters and is more expensive:

If you want to make alkaline water at home, then you will have to invest in special ionizers or filters that will make water alkaline through a chemical process called electrolysis. Also due to the presence of special filters that are needed for the alkaline process, you may expect to spend more if you want to drink alkaline water. You can also purchase drops that you can add to your regular water to make it more alkaline.

No matter whichever method you use end up sending more than you actually would if you were just buying and drinking regular water.

Con of alkaline water is stomach pH:

One of the most notable cons of alkaline water is that despite considering the pH content of water giving enhanced hydration. It therefore cannot change the ph levels in your stomach over the long term. The pH level of your stomach may vary between around 1.2-3.5. This may be required to aid the digestion process and cannot be permanently changed by water consumption.

Raise the pH level:

When we drink and eat, the pH level of our stomach is raised slightly and by digestion, it converts into the natural level. Intake of alkaline water can thus also negate the effects of excess stomach acid accumulated in our diets but does not change the ph level of our stomachs.

One of the most important cons of drinking alkaline water is that it is very expensive and this true in the form of ionizer tanks which generally range from euro 750 to euro 2000.

No doubt that alkaline water is expensive and you can also receive many similar benefits which will cost you only a small fraction of the price of an ionizer machine and can provide revitalizing alkaline water for just 2.5 p per liter and this is nearly the 30th part of the price of standard bottled water.

Another cons is blood pH:

It is noticed that your blood has a slightly steady alkaline level of around 7.35. Much in the same way as your stomach and your body have several mechanisms which strictly maintain the pH level of your blood.

Therefore, drinking alkaline water cannot change this, thankfully! It’s vital for human health that this ph level remains normal.

Conclusion

The debate regarding the pros and cons of alkaline water. On one hand, skeptics argue that there exists scientific proof of reputed benefits of drinking alkaline water.

This article entails the pros and cons of drinking alkaline water. Having a look you must get a clear idea of alkaline water.
