Technovation Challenge 2020 for Girls Worldwide

Every girl deserves to participate in creating the technology that will change us and the one that drives it. With this inspiring idea, Technovation is inviting girls teams around the world to learn and apply the skills required to solve real-world problems through technology.

Technovation contributes with an excellent opportunity for the girls to learn the skills needed to become a technology entrepreneur and leader. Technovation Girls pride themselves on providing identity-affirming role models to girls and students so that they can see themselves in technology careers.

Eligibility Criteria

To participate in the competition, a girl must create or join a team on the online platform, sign a parent/guardian consent form and meet the following student participation criteria:

  • All students must be between 10 and 18 years of age by August 1 2020.
  • All students must identify as female, trans, non-binary or gender nonconforming. The students who are assigned male at birth and self-identify as the male cannot enter the competition.
  • Teams are composed of one to five students. Students can only join one team.
  • Competition divisions are made on the basis of the oldest student on the team.

Participants Requirement

  • Students can participate in Technovation girls for several seasons until they reach the age of 18
  • Students may work with members and mentors of the same team, but they may not submit material to compete for many years.
  • Participating teams can explore the same problem, but every year the app prototype needs to be different.

  • Enter the email and password.
  • This will take you to the dashboard where you will have a list of items to work with, allowing you to join a team as a student or mentor.

Gold Level Scholarship for the highest-scoring team at world pitch

  • Senior Scholarship: $15,000
  • Junior Scholarship: $12,000
  • Travel cost and world pitch participation costs are covered.

Silver Level Scholarship for a second the highest-scoring team at world pitch

  • Senior Scholarship: $10,000
  • Junior Scholarship: $5,000
  • Travel cost and world pitch participation costs are covered.

World Pitch Finalists

  • Travel cost and world pitch participation costs are covered.
  • No Scholarship

Regional Scholarship Winners

  • Senior Scholarships: $1,000 awarded to each of 5 teams.
  • Junior Scholarship: $1,000 awarded to each of 5 teams.
  • Teams in each division will be awarded by region from Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, South America.
  • Teams who receive these awards will not be invited to World Pitch.
