International Students Losing Focus Due to Too Much Activity on Social Media

All of us know that the use of mobile phones causes the students to fare crudely in middle and high school poorly. Researchers say that its impact is also seen in international students who opt for overseas studies but instead end up using their phones all-day.

The excessive activities on social media results in losing concentration and compromising their studies.

Social Media Activities Brings Sleep Deprivation

The social media has become a necessity for international students to stay updated and connected with the world around them. They know little of what they are damaging because of the excessive activity on social media.

Socializing is a part of the development for the students, but too much of everything leads to irreparable damage. The students who tend to stare into the smartphones to post different activities on social media and stay updated with the lives of their peers are prone to amend their sleeping habits.

The quality of sleep affected by their actions on social media. As a result, they tend to lose focus when they attend the classes because of the lack of sleep due to the use of mobile phones or other gadgets.

Students do not Focus on their Goals

The international students who go abroad intending to study deviate from their goal as they spend an immense amount of the day staring at their phones.

They gradually lose their focus as they spend extended time on social media rather than studying.

A research was done on the correlation of enthusiasm to study and usage of the phone. The study found out that the students who are habitual of studying a lot lose focus because of the excessive usage of the phone.

Additionally, the study calls attention to the parents and pupils to the dangers of excessive usage of phones, or staying active on social media can result in compromising the students’ efforts to study. Even if the students push themselves to go to the class, they tend to be sleepy because of the sleep deprivation.

Limit Your Social Media Activities

The researchers advise that the use of phones should be limited to one hour for a day for the students. This practice will allow them to stay active and ambitious towards their studies and achieve their goals within the time.

Limiting their time on social media activities will help them stay particular about what they have to do, keeping in mind a regular schedule for the whole day without wasting time on social media.

Google Can Help You Overcome the Bad Habit

Not to mention, Google also has a set of apps for the students to download that reveals how much time they spend on the phone. The international students can download these apps and monitor the time they are glued to the phones and possibly erase the habit of excessive use of the phone.

Suitable App for International Students

Amongst the apps, one of the effective ones for international students is the Post Box. The app collects all the notifications and pockets them. It reveals the announcement at your scheduled time, which means the students can set the time to view the notifications on social media.

Thus indulging less in the activities on social media and paying more attention to their studies.

The international students should stay focused and don’t indulge in any activities that make them astray from their goals. To stay focused, the realization is necessary that studies are essential than their actions on social media.
