How to Study MBBS in China?

To study in any government or even private colleges is a very tough job to manage for any student. The sheer competition there can rattle a student. When it comes to MBBS, there are a lot of options to choose from since the number of colleges that offer the course and degree are more than enough, but a student wants to get themselves admitted in a right college or institution only.

There is no advantage of getting into a college which does not have a good reputation and isn’t even government-affiliated.

This is why many students go to China for getting a degree of MBBS.

Very Favourable Conditions

Why would any student want to go to China, though? Why not go to the US or UK? The simple answer is because it is relatively cheaper than the two countries and most of the countries not mentioned here. Even compared to some of the local institutions, the cost of study and living together in China would come out to be cheaper.

There is one more reason for students to go to China, and it is that the quality of education is above par. People who study in Chinese institutions get placed for a job quite easily.

The reason behind the excellent quality of education in Chinese institutions is that all of the colleges and educational institutions are government-affiliated. China believes in quality education, and maybe that is the reason why it is investing more and more money into its education system.

Eligibility Criteria to Study MBBS in China

First of all, students should know that there is a pre-determined list of colleges which can be accessed by international students who wish to pursue the degree of MBBS.

If a student wants to study from a specific college which is not in the list of the Chinese educational system for International Students, then the student’s visa would be denied, and he won’t get admission in that college as well. All the college list and information is available on the MCI website.

In the early days, for students who wished to study in the Chinese educational system required minimum to score an aggregate of 50% in Chemistry, Physics and Biology in their 10+2 class in high school.

It was not much of a strict criterion for the students back then, but later on, it became the very basis for allowing students in the country itself for the study. As per reports, in recent years, the aggregate total of 50% has increased to a total of 60% for medical institutions specifically.

The reason behind the rise of the minimum percentage required was because students with low grades were not able to cope up with the lengthy syllabus of medical courses in China.

For the students in India who want to study medicine abroad, institutions have to mandatory appear for the NEET examination, which is conducted by the government of India. The marks obtained from NEET will be valid for a total of 3 years after which if the student has not appeared for any college, he/she will have to reappear for the exam.
