How Indian Students Can Study Abroad After 10th?

The Class 10 and Class 12 examinations are an essential one in a student’s life. Many young Indian students often dream of studying abroad after completing their examinations, and you have a chance to fulfil your dream either right after your 10th examinations or after your 12th.

If you are planning on studying abroad after completing your 10th examinations in India, then there are a few essential things you need to know to make this happen.

How to Apply for a School Abroad after 10th:

Research Properly

The very first thing you need to do is research properly and identify which school and what course you want to join. You will get to choose between arts, science and commerce, but you will also have the freedom to choose between different subjects (something which can be done in schools abroad but not in Indian schools).

Application Forms

The next thing you have to do is to request these schools for their application forms. You have to fill up the forms very carefully and keep an eye on the deadlines for submission. Each school that you are applying to may have a different submission deadline, so keep a close eye on this.

English Test

The next step is to take the various tests that will help you qualify for the schools abroad. Typically, you will have to make an IETLS or TOEFL test, which will test your English language skills. Only if you can pass this test, can you be accepted into a school abroad? These tests will test your English writing skills, speaking and listening skills.

Student Visa

The next thing you need to do is obtain a student visa. You will have to have all the necessary documents proving that your family will be able to pay for all the tuition fees, accommodation fees, and transportation fees during your stay in that country.

As you will still be minor, you are required to have guardians living in the country where you are applying. You will have to have all the necessary documentation which proves how they are related to you, and if they are financially strong to take care of you during your stay there.

Essay

In the next step, you will have to prepare your essay, which you will send to your applying school. Depending upon which school you are applying to, you will get specific instructions about your essay, and you will have to follow those instructions very carefully.

Letters of Recommendation

You also need to have proper letters of recommendation written by your professors or your teachers.

Additional Documents

You need to fill up all the application forms carefully and attach all the necessary documents. This is a long drawn process, but it is essential to ensure that everything is in the right place and attached carefully.

Finally, you have to attach your test scores to all the relevant documents and application forms and send them to the schools where you wish to study after your 10th examination in India.

Why Should you Study Abroad After 10th?

India has a great education system with excellent institutions and schools, good teachers, and also good courses. However, there are many reasons as to why students often opt to study abroad I countries like the US, UK, Canada, Australia, etc. Here are a few essential things you should know about studying abroad after 10th:

1. Flexibility and Freedom

One of the best things about the education system abroad is that it is quite flexible, gives the students a lot of freedom, and is very self-exploratory. Students are not stuck with just a few subjects to choose from. Instead, they can choose from and even switch between different subjects according to their interests.

2. Practical Learning

While a lot of the learning in India is theoretical, it is quite different abroad. Most of the studies are practical learning, with frequent workshops, seminars, and practical lessons being taken.

3. GPA Instead of Percentage

In India, students are graded on their percentage calculated at the end of each year. However, abroad, the system is different. Students are graded on GPA, which is a more accurate representation of the overall development of the student.
