Rich International Students Being Targeted by Goons in Australia

International students who are studying at Melbourne University in Australia are being repeatedly robbed and mugged in a series of attacks targeted towards foreign students.

There have been reports of thugs assaulting the students even after they have handed over their belongings. Police have been investigating on these matters and have begun chasing down a number of thugs in African appearance.

Even students of Chinese nationality studying in Monash University have been mugged by thugs to hand over their money, wallets and also credit cards of these students. The attacks not only are targeted towards students but also people as old as 55 years.

A 19-year-old Chinese student had fallen victim to mugging where the student has been forced to hand over his iPhone and wallet to African men as the student was on their way to the university on the 18^th of April.

There thieving has been so intense and routine that there are posters that have been put up in the area which tells the people to be aware of thugs. The sign shows that the people should take care while walking through the lanes as there are several incidents of assault and burglaries.

Another student has had an incident where the student was held at knifepoint near the university campus barely a month back and stole the students iPhone XR and also got away with the student’s jacket and shirt.

Assault on the victims was common after they were mugged.

According to the authorities, the muggings were targeted in areas such as the Box Hill, Burwood, Mulgrave, Mount Waverly, Glen Waverly, and Oakleigh.

The Authorities have raided the homes located in Melbourne’s South East which led the police to arrest the suspects who have been thieved and mugged. The situation has reached to the extent where the students of Monash University have been escorted by security to their colleges, public transport and even to their own cars.

This hasn’t been the only incident where the students have been robbed of their belongings. Last year, there were many incidents where the Indian Students pursuing an education in Australia has been assaulted and in Melbourne And Sydney in an organized crime known as “Curry Bashing”

The President of the University of Melbourne Students Union explains that in during the tenure of the former president John Howard, the citizens have not yet understood the importance of cultural diversity of the country and also don’t understand about racial tolerance.

The Union President says that now with the liberal government Australia has, there is a greater chance of the authorities listening to the problems of international students.
