Ontario has introduced its first Tech Draw of 2020, with 954 invitations under the Human Capital Priorities Stream of the Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program. The draw was held on 14 January and issued Notification of Interest (NOI) to express entry candidates who have eligible work experience for Canadian provincial nomination applications.
The province of Ontario has sent these Notifications of Interest to candidates have submitted a profile in the Government of Canada’s Express Entry system and had Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) scores range of 460 to 472.
With a provincial nomination, their marks increase to 600, and this puts a candidate high in the rank, and the challenges of getting the invitation to apply in the subsequent draw increase considerably.

To be for Tech Draw of ONIP, candidates need to have an eligible profile registered under the Canadian experience class or the federal skilled worker class. Both these categories are run by the Express Entry system by the Federal Government of Canada.
Candidates must meet current Human Capital Priorities Stream (HCP) requirements as well as work experience in one of the above-stated occupations.
The candidates that are in the Express Entry pool are given a score through the CRS depending upon a number of factors including the age, education, work experience that they have and proficiency in the language of French or English.
A candidate does not need to have a job offer in order to become eligible for the human capital priorities stream.
The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program Tech draws are conducted through the immigration section of the province’s Human Capital Priorities, which allows the Federal Express Entry pool to be searched for candidates who meet the eligibility requirements of the OINP stream.
The primary objective of these draws is to find express entry candidates specifically who meet the eligibility requirements of the Human Capital Priority Stream and have at least one year of continuous paid full-time or part-time work experience.
