Grab Your Reader’s Attention

These simple means start with something interesting. You can present some facts or figures which may astonish the reader. One way to keep the attention of the reader is to ask them questions at regular intervals. You can also start your first line with a tough question and then follow up with the answer.

Usage of quotes is also an exciting technique that a lot of people use when they are introducing a topic. Don’t write dull sentences in between. A reader is likely to drop out of your essay on the very first stupid penalty that they read. Be a good storyteller. Everyone likes to read a good story and not just facts and figures. So keep that in mind while starting your essay. 

Write With Your Voice 

It is an essential thing that many of the essays lack. When you are writing an essay, please don’t write it as an anonymous person. Present your own words and feelings so that when the reader is reading it, they feel that the words are coming from a personal point of view.

This makes the essay’s exciting and begs the reader to question or agree with your beliefs. But when you write it as an anonymous person and leave facts and figures on it, there can’t be anything duller than that.

If what you are writing is off the topic by a large margin, it is off-putting. Your ideas and logic should be understandable. Your introduction is the foundation of the whole essay, and if it is off-putting and unspecific, no one is going to read it completely. 

Add Surprising Angles

When others start reading your essay, they are likely to do it with their preconceived notions about how something should be or how you might have written it in general. But this is where you can add the element of surprise. Introduce a different angle to your subject.

Suppose if you were to take a positive stand for something, look at it from a negative angle as well. Add both the angles, your readers would get a more vivid view of the topic and will enjoy reading it as well.
