China’s Latest Law on Visa Facilitation Provides No Assistance to Indians

After an entire year, people worldwide have started travelling, and the vaccine for Covid-19 has been slowly processing through the travellers due to high restrictions in the embassies. Apparently, the Chinese embassy decided to state a new rule for the travellers to China, which now has all the people who have their workplace or university in there do nothing but stay helpless.

The decision-making process is taking an indefinite amount of time, and chaos is starting to begin. After the rage and aversion against China that started ever since the military dispute between China and India took place in Galwan Valley, Indian citizens prohibited Chinese companies and items sold in the country. This just did not bring a thick difference between India and China’s relationship with each other, but also, at some point, both countries struggled to trust one another’s policies.

Although, both China and India came across the decision not to overpower the conflict and let the tourists and students find their ways out to travel back to China and pursue their jobs

What has happened?

On 16th March 2021, the Chinese embassy in Delhi stated that the citizens of India or any other country can now travel back to China in order to start their work or university. Still, they will only be granted permission if they take the covid-19 vaccine prepared by China. Anyone can issue a Chinese Visa if they agree or have already been vaccinated by the Chinese vaccine. It does not matter if you are not travelling to China for the first time; in order to reissue your visa, getting injected with the Chinese vaccine is a must.

China has been making its own arrangements with the vaccines, even though it is not accepted worldwide. China does not seem to be changing its new Covid-19 vaccine policies.

Why is this a significant issue?

The Chinese embassy issue only allows tourists and travelers who agree to get vaccinated by the Chinese vaccine is complicated. First of all, the Chinese vaccine has not yet been approved by the WHO (World Health Organisation) or any other medical organization in India. Second of all, neither is China approving the vaccines produced by WHO (World Health Organisation).

Amidst a confusing and unbalanced decision, the tourists and the foreigners are finding the situation very helpless. Since the Delhi administration does not approve the Chinese vaccine yet, the tourists cannot even have a thought of accepting the Chinese vaccine. However, according to sources, the Chinese travellers and tourists are also stuck since the Delhi embassy approves vaccines generated by WHO and not Chinese vaccines.

There are several thousand people who desperately need to move back to China and start with their jobs. For a fact, there are over 20,000 students who are also desperately trying to get their visas renewed or the permission from the Chinese embassy so they could return to their schools and universities just to continue with their courses. The students are more concerned about the permission as 2021 is the second year which is about, to begin with, no proper education, job, and money. The loss of one year was more than enough to degrade the economy, education, and agriculture. The final year students, especially, have gotten into a huge mess since the year drags not just their degree but also work experience.

Second of all, another issue that we previously talked about; the approval of vaccination. Even though the conflict of trusting the vaccines is a massive deal to every simple citizen out there, some are also ready to take the unapproved vaccine to travel back to China and start their universities. However, the Indian embassy has not yet allowed any Indian citizen to get vaccinated since one person can lead to two more persons. Two more persons can lead to the entire population willing to go back and continue with their lives. This can become a life threat to India’s citizens since the vaccine is not yet approved but then thinking about the students and workers, which seems to be the only option.

What is China thinking?

It was previously believed that China came up with this idea to be the perfect way of providing vaccines to at least half a dozen citizens in the country. Since loads of people leave the country and go to other international countries for studying, working, exporting products, etc., vaccinating them before they left China or vaccinating them before they got inside the Chinese territories would fix the stress load. The only people left would be the non-travelers. China made every citizen who got in or outside the country accept the policy and get injected.

However, India did not agree to the policy since they have entrusted the vaccines provided by WHO and wish to continue with it after all. Apparently, not just India, but several other countries like the US, Australia, South Korea, Nigeria, Pakistan, Greece, Italy, Israel, Norway, and Indonesia as well do not go hand-in-hand believing Chinese vaccines to the best choice for the travelers. On the other hand, the Chinese embassy has decided to take essential steps to consider or have official sitting with the Indian officials so that the Chinese vaccines are available in India for the students.

China currently does not seem to have their decision changed, plus already by now, a considerable number of Chinese citizens have been provided by the vaccinations. The Spokesperson of the Chinese Foreign ministry, Zhao Lijian, reportedly said that the other country officials are also in constant persuasion to the Chinese ministry to reconsider and let the students get their visas permission to get back and start over. Even though steps and decisions are yet to be taken, students have high hopes from both countries.
