Yingying’s Fund is Available to Assist Foreign Students

In 2017 Yingying Zhang, a Ph.D. student in the University of Illinois faced a brutal murder done by a former research student and unfortunately no remains of Yingying is still found. Recently the Zhang family along with Yingying’s fiancé took the initiative of opening up a fund after her name for the students of the University of Illinois.

This fund is primarily for students who are coming from other countries to study there and are facing financial complications as well.

Yingying’s brother said that their family took the decision of starting this funding for students so that nobody has to face many complications in terms of finances when they plan to pursue a career.

Yingying always was keen to help others, and she never refrained from standing beside a person in need of her help no matter what she was going through at the moment. This fund is going to be a small method through which the family plans to pay back to the society and the people who have been by their side and supported them in their loss.

Yingying went missing, and despite a lot of initiative, nobody could find her remains. According to her murder, she was killed before being abducted. The murdered who was also a student in the university killed her and hid her remains, he has been sentenced to death for his deeds.

After all that has happened, Yingying’s family still wishes her to return and dreams of her well-being as well.

Yingying’s father stated that when the incident took place, he did not know what to do and where to go. In such conditions, many locals, as well as people from the university, helped him.

Starting a fund in the memory of his daughter is a small way to contribute some goodness in the society from where he got so much of help.

The university authorities supported this initiative taken by the Zhang family and stated that the international student section comprises a big part of the University of Illinois.

By starting a fund for them is not only helping the university to grow and give the international students a chance to accomplish their dreams but also keeping the dreams and hopes of Yingying alive through it.

Even if Yingying is not physically present around the family, they said this funding and the helping students in need through the funding is going to keep the thought of their daughter alive.

As a part of the initial deposit, the Zhang family gave an amount of $57,000 raised by approximately 479 people.

The students who come out of their country and travel abroad to study faces innumerable numbers of hardships, the financial crisis is one of the significant reasons in the hardship list.

There are countless numbers of students who give up their dream of further studying since they cannot afford the charges to pursue a career in a particular field and get trained in it. This fund is meant for helping all those bright students to let them fulfill their dreams as well.
