Why I Honour the American Flag?

The American flag is the pride of the entire US people. The American flag comprises of fifty white stars on a blue rectangular background. The blue square background is located towards the upper left side of the flag.

The other parts of the flag contain thirteen stripes running horizontally from left to right or vice versa. The fifty stars represent all fifty states of the United States. While the thirteen stripes each stand for the thirteen former colonies of Great Britain, which had declared independence from their home country.

These thirteen independent states became the first few states the country had. The American flag goes by several nicknames. It is called the Star-Spangled Banner, the Old Glory, or the Stars and Stripes.
