Ukraine is Inviting more International Students than European Countries

Many European countries had been attracting international students to their universities to study for ages. However, in the recent turn of the situation, they have seen a significant decline in the rate of international students enrolment. There are some reasons for this decline.

The USA, in the reign of president Trump, has seen a decrease of 6.6 per cent due to unfriendly behaviour towards foreigners and strict rules on visa processing.

In recent years, similarly, a clear decline is seen in the UK because they imposed a high fee structure on international students. This situation makes it difficult for the students to come over and stay for a long course of time to complete their degrees.

Meanwhile, in the run, some other countries came forward and took a welcoming step for enrolling international students to their universities.

One such example of a country is Ukraine. Although many students choose to go there for medical related degrees mostly, it still has not come up as a competent country in the race. According to Inside Higher Education, the government of Ukraine has put efforts for attracting international students.

Ukrainian State Centre for International Education has revealed a set of data which tells that the country has seen a 13% growth rate of international students in 2018. The number of international students currently enrolled is up to 75,605. International students mainly come from India, Morocco, Azerbaijan, Turkmenistan, and Nigeria.

Why choose Ukraine?

The low cost of residency alongside the most affordable quality education are the main reasons why students choose Ukraine over other countries.

Medical related degrees such as medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, and healthcare are more familiar to international students because of its high-quality education.

The top three universities of Ukraine that international students choose are Kharkiv National Medical University, V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University, and Odessa National Medical University.

Other degrees like management, computer science, oil and gas engineering, and secondary education are also very high demanding among foreigners.

Students mostly go to cover Bachelor and Master degrees. Less than one percent of the students choose to study postgraduate Education in Ukraine.

Ukraine’s government has been putting milestone efforts for organizations working for the enrolment of international students.

Inside Higher Education says that the services that students pay at the time of admission do not end after their enrolment. Most of the time, they support the students throughout their stay in Ukraine.

Graduate from the universities shares their positive and successful education stories among their relatives and friends. It is also improving the country’s education reputation on a global level.

Although, their education is not perfect like other country’s education system. The country is putting a lot more efforts to improve it.

Inside Higher Education wrote that the country has many drawbacks that become a hindrance in the improvement of export education. One of the reasons is the corruption issue in the country. Although, the government is trying its best to eliminate every lousy factor. Ukraine is thriving to bring the best out of it.

Ukraine might seem to be a smaller ranked country among other European countries in promoting International education. However, fortunately, because of the lower cost of living and the best quality education, Ukraine has attracted a significant number of international students.
