ACS Scholars Program

American Chemical Society (ACS) is pleased to offer renewable scholarships to underrepresented minority students who want to enter the fields of chemistry or chemistry-related fields. Awards of up to $5,000 are given to qualified students. African American, Hispanic, or American Indian high school seniors or college freshman, sophomores, or juniors pursuing a college degree in the chemical sciences or chemical technology are eligible to apply. Applications accepted November 1 through March 1

Albert W. Dent Graduate Student Scholarship

The Foundation of the American College of Healthcare Executives established this scholarship in honor of Albert W. Dent, the first African-American Fellow of ACHE. This scholarship is offered to provide financial aid to minority students in healthcare management graduate programs to help offset tuition costs, student loans, and expenses. ACHE awards up to 15 scholarships each year. Each scholarship is worth $5,000.

AMS Minority Scholarships

American Meteorological Society (AMS) is pleased to announce its AMS Minority Scholarships. The program will award funding to minority students who have been traditionally underrepresented in the sciences, especially Hispanic, Native American, and Black/African American students. Students must plan to pursue careers in the atmospheric or related oceanic and hydrologic sciences. The $6,000 two-year scholarship is for $3000 per year during freshman and sophomore years (second-year funding depends on successful completion of the first academic year).

Judith Mcmanus Price Scholarship

The American Planning Association (APA) Foundation is now offering the Judith Mcmanus Price Scholarship Program. The program is open to women or minority (African American, Hispanic or Native American) undergraduate or graduate students who are enrolled in an approved Planning Accreditation Board (PAB) planning program. Students must be citizens of the United States. Awards will range between from $2,000 to $5,000.

BAM Scholarship

“Blacks at Microsoft (BAM) Company” is pleased to announce the BAM Scholarship to high-school senior of African descent who will attend a four-year college or university. The program is open to students who are planning to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, computer information systems, or select business programs (such as finance, business administration, or marketing). This year, BAM will award two US$5,000 scholarships award for up to four years to outstanding seniors who are interested in pursuing careers in technology.

Charles Shelton Foundation Veterinarian Career Scholarship

The Charles Shelton Foundation is pleased to announce its annual scholarship program to students who are pursuing a degree in the Veterinarian career field. The program is open to a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who has a minimum 3.0 GPA. The program provides one non-renewable $2,500 award offered annually.

The FEF’s McKnight Doctoral Fellowship Program

The McKnight Doctoral Fellowship program is designed to address the under-representation of African American and Hispanic faculty at colleges and universities in the state of Florida. To eligible, an applicant must be intended to seek Ph.D. degrees in one of the disciplines in the Arts and Sciences, Mathematics, Business or Engineering, and hold a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university. Up to 50 Fellowships (renewable for up to five years) are granted each year to students pursuing doctoral degrees at one of 9 participating institutions in the State of Florida. Each Fellowship consists of $17,000 per year in tuition, fees, and a stipend.

The Beinecke African Scholarship Program

The Beinecke Scholarship Program is now offering its Beinecke African Scholarship Program. The program is open to African students to pursue graduate study in conservation or wildlife ecology at a University in the United States. Beinecke Scholar receives a total of $34,000 in support of his or her graduate education. This award is intended to offset the costs associated with the graduate application process and to pay for travel expenses directly related to the start of graduate school. While in graduate school, a Beinecke Scholar will receive an additional $30,000 in support.

CANFIT Scholarships

The CANFIT, a Project of the Tides Center is pleased to announce its CANFIT Scholarships. The program provides funds to students of African-American, American Indian, and Alaska Native, Asian-American, Pacific Islander, or Latino/Hispanic descent to help achieve their college education undergraduate or graduate degrees in nutrition, physical activity, or culinary arts. Checks will be mailed to the educational institution and are to be used toward tuition and fees.

Brown and Caldwell Minority Scholarship

At Brown and Caldwell, the Minority Scholarship is available to a full-time student who is interested in pursuing a career in the environmental profession. The program is open to student who is enrolled in his/her Junior, senior year or graduate program at an accredited college/university and declared major in civil, chemical or environmental engineering or one of the environmental sciences (e.g. geology, hydrogeology, ecology). The program will provide up to $5,000 scholarship award to support students who identify as a minority group (e.g. African American, Hispanic, Asian or Pacific American or Alaska Native). 2018 scholarship will become available next spring.
