Saskatchewan PNP Issued 533 Invitations for Canadian PR

The Federal Express Entry System manages the pool of candidates for three of Canada’s major economic-class immigration programs: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.

Candidates are classified according to the CRS, which awards points in English or French for human capital factors such as age, work experience, education and language skills.

On August 14, the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) held its freshest round of calls. Candidates from the International Skilled Worker category were invited through two subcategories: Express Entry, and In-Demand Occupations.

The number of invitations fell short of being the year’s biggest draw, which on February 13 was 646. However, it’s the biggest draw since February 27 that issued 576 invitations, and hence the biggest draw since March’s coronavirus lockdown.

Candidates from both subcategories needed to submit Expression of Interest ( EOI) profiles with the SINP to be invited in this draw.

The SINP uses the EOI(Expression of Interest) system to select the candidates in the prairie province with the most potential to thrive. Candidates are required to demonstrate their commitment to building a life in Saskatchewan by demonstrating their work experience, education, language skills, age and provincial connections.

The SINP uses these five factors to evaluate candidates, and on the International Skilled Worker Points, Assessment Grid gives them a score out of 100. The highest-scoring candidates then receive an invitation to apply for a Saskatchewan provincial nomination.

The minimum scores are required for both subcategories in the August 14 draws was 69.

Express Entry subcategory

Saskatchewan issued 286 invitations in the latest round of invitations to candidates who had profiles in the federal Express Entry pool.

If candidates also filled out an EOI for Saskatchewan in the federal Express Entry pool and scored 69 on the Points Assessment Grid of the SINP, they may have been invited to the latest draw.

Express Entry candidates applying for and receiving a provincial nomination from Saskatchewan Province will be awarded an additional 600 scores to their Comprehensive Ranking System score. This award effectively guarantees that a subsequent federal Express Entry draw will invite them to apply for permanent residency.

Occupations In-Demand subcategory

The subcategory Occupations In-Demand is open to immigrant applicants who do not have a federal Express Entry profile.

Invited to apply for a provincial nomination were 247 Occupations In-Demand candidates and, like the Express Entry subcategory, candidates needed a provincial score of 69 to be selected.
