A total of 437 invitations were issued for the British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) categories of Skilled Workers, International Graduates and Entry Levels and Semi-Skilled Workers.
All invited Skills Immigration and Express Entry candidates are required to have a full-time job offer with an employer in BC. The minimum score for this draw varied according to subcategory and ranged from 76 to 98 points.
The two subcategories and their respective scores included in the draw under Express Entry BC stream were:
- Skilled worker requiring a provincial score of 97.
- An international graduate who had a provincial score of 98 required.
Categories of Express Entry BC are open to immigration candidates with a profile in the federal Express Entry system that manages the pool of candidates for Canada ‘s three federal skilled immigration programs — the Federal Skilled Worker Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Class.
Express Entry applicants who apply for and receive a provincial permanent residence nomination receive an additional 600 points towards their Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score and are effectively guaranteed to receive an Invitation to Apply (ITA) for Canadian permanent residence in a federal Express Entry draw.
The three subcategories included and their respective scores under the Immigration Skills stream were:
- Skilled Worker requiring a provincial score of 97;
- International graduate demanding a provincial score of 98; and
- Entry-level and semi-skilled, with a provincial score of 76 needed.
Applicants are required to register with the BC PNP online portal to qualify for the Skills Immigration and Express Entry BC categories. Upon registration, the candidate is allocated a score as per the BC PNP Skills Immigration Registration System.
SIRS is a point-based system used by the BC PNP to assess candidates based on factors such as English and French education, work experience, and proficiency.
