Saskatchewan Invites 646 Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand Candidates for Canadian PR

The province of Saskatchewan has issued 646 invitations to Express Entry candidates and Occupations In-Demand in its latest Expression of Interest draw. In this draw of February 13, three times more people were invited than the previous draw on January 13.

In the total of 646 invitations for permanent residence, Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP) sent 369 invitations to Occupations In-Demand candidates and while 277 invitations to Saskatchewan Express Entry candidates.

To be considered, candidates are required to submit Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP). With the EOI system, SINP invites immigration candidates with the ability to flourish in the Prairie Provinces to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian PR.

Candidates who want to apply for Saskatchewan province needed to create an EOI profile and demonstrate their ability to sink into life in Saskatchewan by posting their work understanding, experience, training, education, language proficiency, connections in the region.

SINP considers five factors to evaluate candidates gives them a score out of 100 on the following International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. The highest-scoring candidates will get an invitation to apply for a provincial nomination for permanent residency in Canada. The minimum score required in this draws 70 for both sub-categories.

To receive an invitation from Saskatchewan candidates are not required having job offers. But Express Entry aspirants needed to have at least one year’s work experience in a qualified, skilled occupation related to their field of study.

Express Entry Sub-Category

In this latest round of invitation, Saskatchewan issued 277 invitations to candidates holding profiles in the Federal Express Entry pool.

Saskatchewan’s express entry sub-category is associated with the federal express entry system which manages the pool of candidates for three of Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs:

  • Federal Skilled Worker Class
  • Federal Skilled Trades Class
  • Canadian Experience Class

The candidates may have selected in this latest draw who filled out an EOI for Saskatchewan in the federal Express Entry pool and scored 70 on the SINP’s Points Assessment Grid.

Candidates of Express Entry who apply for and receive a provincial nomination certificate from Saskatchewan will earn an additional 600 points in the CRS score at the federal level. This will result in a guaranteed ITA from the following draw for Canada permanent residency.

Occupations In-Demand Sub-Category

Occupations In-Demand category is giving the immigration opportunity to the candidates who don’t have the Express Entry profile. This draw invited 369 candidates under Occupations In-demand sub-category for a provincial nomination, and these candidates should have 70 marks as an express sub-category.

Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program uses Excluded Occupations List rather than a list of in-demand occupations because showed more flexibility in responding to the changing in demand for the province’s labour market.

In this latest draw of 2020, 107 candidates from in-demand occupations were invited. This sub-category includes occupations like managers, human resource professionals, and financial sales representatives, among others.
