Nursing Students Will Get Supports With £ 5,000 Per Year From UK Prime Minister

NHS stands for National health service. It was set up by the UK government for helping people with healthcare services. With the implementation of this program, citizens of the UK could benefit by not paying the full amount of healthcare services. Those services include – 

• Going to a doctor or a nurse for diagnosis. 
• Getting help for any medical emergency, such as if you got into an accident. 
• Supporting the midwives.

In his efforts to do that, he said that starting September 2020, all the nursing students will get a five thousand Euros grant a year. 

In addition to this, Boris Johnson said that he knows very well that people in his country want better health services. This is why the UK government will be heavily investing in healthcare facilities and infrastructure. The goal is to deliver 50,000 new nurses. And the financial help that the students will be provided with will play a huge role in this. 

The Prime Minister also hosted a reception in Downing Street for the NHS staff. The reason was to thank them for their contributions and the brilliant work that they do day in and out. According to stats, since the inception of this decade, there has been an addition of 17,700 more new nurses to the NHS program.

But the numbers also suggest that there is still a lack of people in the NHS. Since the number of people that have been coming in for treatments is increasing every year, NHS will need a much larger and qualified force to treat them. According to sources, this move from the government is considered as one of the strongest drives in the history of the UK to employ people in NHS. 

Health Secretary Matt Hancock Take On NHS 

Matt Hancock said that NHS is there for everyone in the UK whenever they need it. All are owing to the skill and dedication of its staff. He shared his story that his grandma used to tell him about the nurses because she was a nurse herself. And he said the people that he knows the kind of sacrifice this service requires.

The health secretary recognizes that this is one of the most significant moves in decades for employing people by the government for NHS. He also said that people who are qualified to apply for the medical course should not shy away. They should get their place in the university of their choice before seats run out.

He believes that the huge financial support from the government might be enough for the NHS to employ 50,000 people in the next few years. The pension issue which came out the same day for the senior clinicians is also something that he is currently working upon. And he assured that all help would be provided. 

Never Going To Be A Much Better Time Than This To Enrol For NHS 

Simon Stevens, who is the chief executive officer of NHS commented that there is not going to be a better time for students who want a good career in the nursing field to apply for the nursing courses. This is an opportunity which may not be there for long and everyone won’t be able to benefit from it. He said that having a full and qualified team under NHS would ensure that quality healthcare services are being provided to those in need. Since the taxpayer’s money runs it, it should be able to benefit them only directly. 

Ruth May, who is the Chief Nurse for England, said that nursing is one of the most rewarding careers in the world. The government recognized that and is motivating people to enter the field of nursing, which is an excellent thing for the country’s future. It will help the UK in kick-starting the careers of many students.

Specifications Of The NHS Grant By The Government 

All nursing and related health professional degree students will get a grant of five thousand Euros at least every year. They will also get an extra three thousand Euros available for funding in cases such as this: 

• Disciplines which require specialists such as mental health care professionals. 
• A thousand Euros, besides, to help the students balance their studies with their personal life. 
• In some areas of the country, the number of health care professionals has declined sharply over the past decade.

This means some student can claim up to eight thousand Euros in total from the government in a year for completing their studies. The support will be available starting from early 2020. Students who are currently seeking the help of different Student loan companies will be helped as well.

There will be no type of restrictions on them to take advice from other sources. This plan for the NHS is aimed to fill the vacancies in the NHS, which have become a significant problem of the UK government now.
