New Zealand has been one of the most popular countries in terms of accepting people of any colour, caste, or religion very happily. It has never had any visa policy that can be termed as harsh for any immigrant.
So recently, New Zealand immigration announced new changes in the temporary work visas. They have said that the changes will start taking place from now up till 2021. So what are the policies that are changing? Let’s have a look.
Table of Contents
For the period of the next 18 months, the New Zealand immigration has proposed the changes mentioned below:
All of these processes and policies will be further designed over the next 1 and ½ year. That is why there are a lot of details that are not yet published. It includes the total fees it will require, the processing time, and the form of evidence both employers and migrants may have to provide in support for their applications.
Some new sector agreements will be introduced for the selected industries which hire a lot of migrants and the terms and conditions will be negotiated with them. The agreement will include a workforce plan and conditions that will be required to hire any migrant in the future. The first agreement is set to be negotiated in the mid of 2020.
Also, from the same period when the fist sector agreement will be negotiated, low paid migrant workers will be allowed to bring their families to New Zealand quite easily. The partner and the children can apply for visas which will be comfortably passed.
School-age children will have to apply for student visas until the duration of the work visa. There are many more changes that are going to happen in the period of the next 18 months, some of which are not mentioned here because they are not out yet officially. These Visa changes are going to make the immigration system much better and easier for the migrants.
