NASA Encouraging Students to Joins its Mission to Mars Students Challenge

NASA is looking forward to February due to a particular reason. The month when NASA will try to land the Mars 2020 Perseverance rover on February 18, 2021, on Mars. It is a massive venture for NASA, and we’re quite excited about it.

After a disastrous 2020, NASA is trying to do something extraordinary in 2021. Their working on a project that will pave the path for extensive research on the red planet.

NASA is quite excited about the project. And they want the whole world to feel that excitement. That is probably why they want to involve students in a challenge.

This post will discuss the new NASA project and how they are planning to involve students in it.

NASA is inviting students to join and enjoy the new venture

NASA is brimming with excitement over their Mission to Mars venture. They are encouraging students to join the NASA Mission to Mars Student Challenge. They encourage individuals, families, groups, classrooms, and informal education groups to develop spacecraft designs and then build them.

NASA always thinks out of the box. And apart from researching celestial bodies, they also work on making the fastest spacecraft and aircraft. They always encourage students to research and bring technological innovation.

Mission to Mars challenge

NASA wants to inspire and educate students about the importance of thePerseverance rover landing over Mars. But that is not possible if the students do not understand what it takes to make this mission successful.

Hence NASA has come up with this challenge for the students. They want to educate students about various kinds of videos and activities. Hopefully, that will help the students finish this challenge with the Mars 2020 STEM toolkit’s help.

The objective of NASA is to involve all the schools in this challenge. Unless the students face this challenge, it is impossible for them to feel the excitement of the Perseverance rover landing itself.

There is no doubt that the Mission to Mars project is quite ambitious. It is the first time that Perseverance is carrying Ingenuity Mars Helicopter to Mars. The scientists are not sure if the helicopter can fly in the thin atmosphere of the red planet. But they are not afraid of taking the risk. They have given their three hundred percent to this project and want to finish it with grand success. They will send the control flight to another planet for the first time in history. The entire world is waiting to see the outcome of this adventurous experiment. And why wouldn’t that be?

If this experiment is successful, the entire world will benefit from it. It will open the floodgates of information that was not accessible before. It is the first time any Aeronautic Space research center is trying to send a helicopter to Mars. Even the scientists are skeptical, but they are not afraid to try at least once. Kudos to NASA and its teamwork diligently day and night to make this impossible project possible.

What is the main motive behind the project Mission to Mars?

The mission of the Mars project is not any scientific experiment. NASA is not interested in making a scientific statement. Their main goal is astrobiology. The project aims to look for the science of ancient microbial life on the red planet. It will study the geology of the red planet and its past climate.

Much research has been done on finding whether there is water or a trace of water on Mars. There has not been a significant success on this subject until now. Several countries are trying their best to find if life is possible on this red planet. But they are not getting important information regarding this.

The rover will help pave the path for human exploration of Mars, which is essential for long term research. It is the first time that an aeronautic space research center will try to collect the Martian rock and study its components.

The project is not as easy as it seems

When it comes to NASA, people are quite convinced about its success. they know that NASA will succeed no matter what. As far as this project is concerned, people feel that it is relatively easy to land on Mars. But that is not so. It is not something trivial.

NASA wants people and students to understand that it is not easy to land on Mars.

Yes. NASA indeed tries its best to complete all its projects successfully. But that doesn’t mean that projects are easy. If you look back at history, only 50% of the attempts to land on Mars have been successful. Fortunately, NASA had successful landings on Mars in the past.

Conclusion

The initiative of NASA is quite impressive and exciting. Somewhere down the line, NASA is trying to make students aware of their work for so many years to benefit human beings. In the last few years, people have researched a lot on Mars. They have done a lot of experiments. Some were successful, whereas others were not. But that has not deterred NASA from carrying on with their experiments on NASA.

All eyes are on NASA. The whole world is eagerly waiting for the new mission to Mars. Let us hope that the helicopter will fly on the red planet and successfully collect the martian rock.

It is an expensive and exciting project. NASA has spent a lot of money and time on this. They want students to understand this project’s significance. Unless students take up this challenge, they can’t understand this project’s implication. NASA has prepared an educational tool kit to help students make spacecraft. It is not that they are expecting that students will design and create space crafts with a few months. They hope students to understand the hard work and planning that goes for making a project successful.
