International Students Get Affected by Tuition-Free Public Colleges in the US

With US senators Bernie Sanders and Elizabeth Warren planning to eliminate tuition fees and implementing tuition-free education for local students in all US public universities everything seems to be bloomy except for the international students being left with no such privilege and their questions on how this implementation may affect their education at the US.

The following are some aspects of how tuition-free education is going to affect international students:

Brighter Part

Education in the US –  A Much Pleasing Option

With public colleges going tuition-free for both local and international students makes students across the world happy. With such an immense golden opportunity implemented by the US, international students can easily apply for such colleges without having to think about their student loans or expensive living that used to be the reasons pulling all international students back. Now no more looking back as tuition-free stands to be an affordable and worthy option.

Attractive offers from private colleges

With all local students leaving for public colleges. It has become a mandatory need for private colleges to attract international students who stand as their only way of income. Luckily, attractive offers on fees and incentives for international students is going to be quite a good feast for interested international students.

Darker Part

Higher competition and lower admission rates.

Since the United States, public universities have decided to ensemble a tuition-free education this automatically means that the upcoming year would see a major overflow of applicants applying for government colleges.

The problem here is that this mixed crowd of both international and native students will put international students in the minority hereby meaning that their admission being at stake.

Private Colleges – the only Savior?

With tuition-free allowances for public colleges and brimming applicants expected from the native students who would otherwise not seek admission into private colleges which in contrast will charge them a higher fee portraying private colleges nearly as a non-existing structure.

But when international students suffer here with their fear of unacceptability into public colleges the only mode of relief lies in arms of private colleges. As private colleges still remain open to them but this time it looks like a more opportunist and more promising factor to them while public colleges be a risk to them question their admission. Therefore truly international students will find private colleges as their savior.

A Hike in Private College’s Fee?

With all local students leaving for government colleges in the bait of tuition – the free advantage of the admission forum’s at private colleges remains unfilled. Leaving the only option of raising fees in order to make up for the low turnouts of local students seems to stand as a factor of biased luck to international students.

Conclusion

This move will actually leave two options for international students. One being them having to pay a higher fee to private colleges and second being, leaving the US as their study option.
