HPV Vaccine Pros and Cons: Essay Tips

Do you have heard about the HPV vaccine? Hpv vaccine is an effective and safe vaccine used to protect adults and children from HPV related diseases. HPV stands for human papillomavirus, which affects about 80 million people in the United States. This virus can be transmitted through skin-skin contact or any sexual activity.

Moreover, the Centre for disease control and prevention suggests that preteens should take the HPV vaccine at around 11-12 ages. Consumption of this vaccine ensures that you are protected against all HPV diseases.

One can take the HPV vaccine until 45 ages. While there are some risks using HPV vaccines, but they can be neglected as it is also helpful in curing six types of cancer each year. 

Hpv vaccine is made by adding or mixing specific amounts of proteins, adjuvants, and stabilizers. Three vaccines include Gardasil, cervix, and Gardasil 9 has been approved so far for use in the U.S. You can even intake the HPV vaccine if you are tested positive for HPV before because it helps to fight against other strains. 

Pros and Cons of HPV Vaccine:

Hpv vaccine has become a subject of debate as it is recommended for teens to become sexually active. Parents should be careful in this regard and should discuss all the pros and cons of the HPV vaccine with their children to educate and prevent them from most transmitted infections in the U.S.

  • Hpv vaccine is used to treat against other HPV types 16 and 18, both of which can lead to certain cancers.
  • Such vaccines also help to protect us against other strains that cause genital warts. 

The U.S food and drug administration (FDA) has approved three vaccines to protect against HPV related health issues. Each vaccine consists of a combination of 2 or more injections that are injected into one’s muscle over six months, depending on age.

Although by 2016, only one vaccine is being used in the U.S that is Gardasil 9. The reason is that this specific vaccine targets most types of HPV than the other two. If you want to take full advantage of this vaccine, it is essential to receive all the injections.

Each of these vaccines protects us against HPV types 16 or 18. These two types are considered at high-risk infections as they also lead to cervical, vulvar or anal cancer.

Gardasil 9 also protects us from strains 6 and 11 as they are known to cause genital warts. In general, they are the major pros of HPV vaccines as it helps us to prevent from cancer and genital warts.

Scientists Recommend That the HPV Vaccine Is Safe:

While during the clinical trials of more than 74,000 patients, potential die effects occur at the same rate from fever to death no matter whether they were given placebo or the HPV vaccine. Research shows that as HPV vaccines don’t have live viruses so they cannot cause the HPV virus directly and therefore are considered to be safe and effective for the lives of people.

Also, no conclusive diagnosis reported that Gardasil 9 causes death, according to the CDC. The protection gained from the HPV vaccine lasts for a long time. And HPV vaccine was first introduced in 2006, but research is limited to the protection from the virus caused by this vaccine.

Cons of HPV Vaccine:

Just as the HPV vaccine has advantages to cure cancer, it also has many disadvantages. Let’s have a look at the cons of the HPV vaccine.

  • It can cause side effects, but they are rare. 
  • As there are no more serious side effects caused by HPV vaccines.
  • HPV vaccine fights against some cancers but not all of them.

Most people receive the HPV vaccine without having any serious side effects. But moderate side effects can occur, but they are still uncommon.

  • Paining or swelling during the injection state.
  • Mile fever and headache
  • Muscle pain and fatigue
  • Fainting, nausea and joint pain
  • Vomiting and diarrhoea
  • Pain in the abdomen

Does the HPV Vaccine Impact Fertility?

If you take the HPV vaccine, suffer from any of the above side effects, or if they continue to appear, then you must consult the concerned doctor.

Some people say that the HPV vaccine also leads to serious health problems such as fertility. But on the other hand, many multiple pieces of research show that HPV vaccination is safe for all patients like all other diseases.

So, it has been observed that HPV vaccines do not impact fertility and it helps to improve productivity in some women who come in contact with STI’s,

Other Cons of HPV Vaccine:

Hpv vaccines are limited in their action. Vaccines don’t help to protect all HPV related cancers but only some. Moreover, it also doesn’t guide to prevent other sexually transmitted infections (STI’s) or treat preexisting HPV viruses or diseases.

Methods to Prevent Lives From HPV:

The best way to treat the HPV virus is to use vaccines. But here we have some other methods to prevent our precious lives from HPV. This can be done by following these special methods.

Use of Other Barrier Methods or Condoms During Sex:

Condoms and use of other barrier methods can reduce your chance of transmitting or contracting HPV.

Daily Screenings, Especially for Cervical Cancer:

Doctors can easily find out abnormal cell changes occurring in women at the age of 21-60. So, they recommend daily screenings for cervical cancer that can be done through pap tests.

Maintain a Healthy Lifestyle:

One can also lessen the risk of undergoing HPV related diseases by maintaining a healthy and clean lifestyle. It has been heard that deficiency of folic acid is bringing an increase in HPV infections.

Moreover, a high intake of plant-based nutrients also reduces the risk of producing cervical cancer cells.

Conclusion

There is no doubt that HPV goes away on its own, but some strains lead to severe cancer diseases such as cervical. As HPV vaccine helps to protect people’s children if they give vaccines to children at 11-12 ages and also to adults up to 45 pages.

This is one of the biggest pros of the HPV vaccine. Rare side effects also need to be considered.
