How to Make a College Resume?

When you make a resume as a college student, emphasize not only your professional history but also your qualification. In a resume, you can also add your skills and capabilities by mentioning about volunteer work and extracurricular activities.

You have to be clear about what to include in your Resume. Writing a resume refers to highlighting your education and job experience.

Things to Include in Your Resume

The following information will help you while writing your Resume as a fresh graduate or a college student.

Focus on Qualification

Keep in view your academic background. With the name of your educational institute and degree, write about your achievements. For example, a good GPA or any award that you may have won. If you are studying a course relevant to the job you have applied for, specifically mention it.

Add Relevant Experience/Jobs

Research the experience and skills required for the position you are applying for. Add the details about any job or internship where you groomed yourself.

If your work experience is not directly relevant, think about the strategies to mention experiences that you could relate to the job you want. For instance, you may mention the previous job as a cashier if it enabled you to learn leadership or customer service skills.

These activities can highlight your abilities and skills. These abilities may prompt hiring managers to consider you as a suitable candidate for the job.

Add Leadership Experience

While studying, many students hold a position in the club, or they become a captain of a sports team. Also, some students become a team leader while working on a college project with other class fellows.

If you have performed any of these roles, do mention that in your CV to convey to the hiring managers that you possess leadership skills. Your ability to lead a team may increase your chances to get the job you want. Several companies prefer candidates who can lead a team.

If possible, write numbers to demonstrate what you achieved in your previous experience or what you are capable of. For instance, you may include in your Resume that in your previous job as a customer service assistant, you helped 100-150 customers daily.

Similarly, you can quote that you worked on the checkouts of the store that managed $15,000 daily. These examples indicate that you have taken up responsibilities.
