How to be Consistent in Studies?

In this social media era, we all are so much caught up with our social lives. Instagram, friends’ books, WhatsApp, and everything has contributed so much in getting us far and far away from our real life.

Also, In the case of students, it’s becoming more like an addiction. It keeps students distracted from their studies, which is why students are losing their motivation to study. They are not encouraged to explore.

However, social media is not the only thing to blame; there are many more reasons for such diversions.

But let’s not discuss the cause of diversions and focus more on eliminating them and trying to be consistent and motivated for your studies.

Following are some of the instructions that you need to follow to become effective with your studies:

1. Create realistic goals

Always start with straightforward and realistic goals. Set your daily targets and work accordingly.

Don’t think that you can complete the whole book in one day because that is of no help. You will only be stressed and tired and won’t be able to learn effectively.

So need not cram everything all in one study session and instead of that, start studying in small intervals every day.

2. Make a schedule

Before beginning with your studies, make a schedule and allot some fixed time out of your daily routine to your tasks. Also, make sure that you stick to your practice.

Even if you are busy someday or have something urgent to do, still try your best to give atleast an hour from your day to your studies because, to be consistent with your homework, you have to be regular to it.

Skipping a day or giving yourself a day off will keep your interest off the studies and allow you to find excuses not to study.

3. Plan what you are going to study.

Making a schedule is not enough; you also need to plan what you are going to study.

As said above, do not try to cover the whole syllabus all at once, and instead make a plan, set your target for every day, and study accordingly.

4. Room with no distractions

If you feel distracted from something like family problems, emotional problems, health problems, or anything, you can try considering meditation. It will help you in handling positive.

Make sure that you study in a room where there are no distractions and just peace. If you can’t find peace at your home, then you can go and learn in a library

Also, if your mobile is distracting, you avoid using your mobile when studying or better place it somewhere far away from you to stop you from getting to it.

5. Keep necessities within your reach

make sure when you sit for studying; you don’t see any interruptions. Because interruptions make you lose consistency, so you better avoid them.

Always before starting to studying, firstly organize your study space. Place everything you need while looking, be it books, notes, pens, flashcards, and a water bottle or snacks, close to your studying space so that you won’t have to get up and interrupt your studies.

6. Take breaks

Every student has their level of tolerance, and everyone’s mind and body at some point need rest, so it’s very much crucial for the students to take small breaks between their studying sessions.

Don’t think of it as 30 minutes break or a 1-hour break; Nah!!!

Long gaps between your study can make you lose interest and consistency in your studies, so it’s better that your break lasts for 10-15 minutes only and not longer than that.

7. Focus on your health

Maintaining consistency in your studies doesn’t mean that you focus on your research and ignore your health and mind.

After sitting for long hours in your room can make you stressed and tired so you better give your body what it wants. Also, stay hydrated, drink plenty of water to be healthy.

8. Get some fresh air

To keep studying later, your body needs some rest and especially some fresh air.

So better not forget that whenever you take breaks, you don’t waste your all-time using mobile or texting your friends and instead go to your balcony or terrace and get some fresh air to keep your mind and body fresh.

9. Reward yourself

Always after completing your target for the day, make sure that you reward yourself.

It can be in form, having your favorite snacks, hanging out with your friends, playing your favorite game, talking with your friends on call, or anything that you can help you keep yourself off stress and prepare you better for tomorrow.

10. Motivation

You will often find yourself in such situations where you will start to lose your motivation towards studies.

It can be anything like the stress of something, someone telling you that you can’t do it, or getting bullied by someone; such situations can discourage you from studying.

You will start to lose your determination and consistency to try to gain motivation through something whenever you like losing yourself.

Like talking to your elders, reading motivational quotes, sharing with your real friends who genuinely want you to do better.
