First Annual E360 Young Writers Awards

Aspiring writers of all ages need an audience. For them, writing competitions always inspire to keep working and introduce with new ideas. First Annual Young Writers Awards is also one of the amazing writing competitions sponsored by the Yale Environment 360 and the Oak Spring Garden Foundation.

The Yale Environment 360 is giving an opinion, commentary, reporting, and discussion on global environmental problems. The award will honor the best nonfiction environmental writing by authors.

Time is admittedly valuable, therefore participate as early as possible, and show your skills by giving an essay or a reported piece that have a personal voice and point of view. Good Luck!!

Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this award, the candidates must follow the given criteria:

• This contest is open to writers internationally, but submissions must be written in English.
• Articles that have appeared in another publication are not eligible.

Participants Requirement

• The articles should focus on topics related to the natural world with an emphasis on topics related to land conservation, forests, and plants, or natural places.
• The writing can be either an essay or a reported piece but should have a personal voice and point of view.
• Entries can be of any length up to a maximum of 2,500 words.

Application Process

Submissions must have a cover page that includes the writer’s name, birth date, a brief bio of no more than one paragraph, and contact information (email, phone number, and address).

Benefits

• The first-place winner will receive $2,000, second and third place winners $500 each.

Application Deadline: Entries must be submitted by November 15, 2019.
