All Guidelines You Need to Know About New UK Graduate Immigration Route Opening This July

The UK government recently announced that applications for a new post-study work visa would open on July 1, 2021.

International students will remain in the UK for two to three years after completing their studies under the Graduate Route visa. They will also be able to travel throughout the world.

To apply, international students must have a track record of compliance with the government’s immigration criteria, according to John Dunn, director of citizenship and immigration at Sable International.

“Post-study work visa holders will be free to work or look for work after completing their studies.” In short, the new reforms are perfect for students who want to remain in the UK after they finish their studies.

“In the past, South Africans who wanted to remain in the UK had to find a job and have a business sponsor them on a work permit.

“As a recent graduate with no job experience, this is a welcome change,” he said. What is the latest visa law, and how does it work?

International students who have completed an undergraduate degree or higher at a Higher Education Provider with a track record of compliance and who have valid Student visa approval at the time of application will be eligible for the path.

Good candidates at the bachelor’s or master’s level, according to Dunn, will be able to remain in the UK for two years and work or look for work at any skill level. Students pursuing a doctorate will be allowed to continue for three years.

The Graduate visa requires applicants to pay different fees and apply before their student visa expires. The exact fee will be determined later.

If applicants remain on the Graduate Path, they are not required to be working or have any restrictions on the type of work they will do.

There will be no minimum wage standards or limit on the number of positions available. Applicants can search for work for as long as possible and leave or move jobs without affecting their visa.

Graduates will be eligible to apply for the Skilled Worker path once they have found a suitable position within the UK.

“Applicants who started their studies in autumn 2020 have until June 21, 2021, to enter the UK with permission as a student (updated from the previous deadline of April 6, 2021) to be qualified to apply for the Graduate path.

Dunn said, “Students who started their studies in January or February 2021 must be in the UK by September 27, 2021.”

If an applicant starts a two-year master’s program in January 2021, he or she must arrive in the UK by September 27, 2021, and finish the final semester of their studies in the UK to apply for the Graduate path according to him.

Graduates may be eligible to apply for other routes, including the Skilled Worker route, at the end of their two- to three-year stay.

Graduates whose student visa leave expires before the path is implemented would be ineligible.

Graduates who follow this path will be able to work flexible hours, switch jobs whenever they want, and advance their careers as needed.
