After Brexit UK Tuition Fees Might Drop for Non-EU from India, China, and Africa

Post-Brexit Britain is going to go through a revolutionary time. The new policy decisions will shape the identity of Britain in Europe and the whole world. The educational sector is facing many changes and it might give high benefit to students coming to the UK from Non-EU benefits.

The fees of education in universities are currently under debate. “Get Britain Out”, a powerful and influential Eurosceptic group of Britain, demands the opening of Britain’s education system to the whole world without any discrimination. The group demands the removal of grotesque differences between the fees structure for International students and EU students.

Currently, the EU students are given preference over students from outside the EU. Students from European countries have to pay the same fees as UK students, while Oversees students pay much higher fees.

Theresa May recently passed a new policy under which EU students will pay more educational fees than UK students. The fees for EU and Non-EU students are going to be equal and the new regulations will be applied from 2021.

Theresa’s plans of increasing tuition fees for EU students have faced backlash from several EU countries. Guy Verhofstadt, a Belgian leader and member of the European Parliament, lashed out his anger openly. He stated that Brussels will not accept this decision of charging higher fees from EU students.

Mr Verhofstadt went all out on twitter and exclaimed that Brexit should not affect the students in a negative way. He added that British students should also not pay higher fees if they want to study in any European country. This can also be seen as an ultimatum that many European countries may change their educational policy for the UK in return.

Get Britain Out’s demands have come after Guy Verhofstadt’s outbreak. The Belgian MEP spoke in benefit of European students. Get Britain out have a different viewpoint that benefits International students from around the world.

Joel Casement of getting Britain Out wrote that European and Non-European students are given the same level of education. The course, facilities an faculties are the same, so there is no reason for charging higher tuition fees from International students after Brexit. According to him, all students should be charged equally to make a better educational environment. It will encourage a constant flow of knowledge and ideas between countries.

Joel Casement believes that to turn Britain into a global power, it needs to be opened to the world. Laying down clear disadvantages to Non-EU students will prevent universities from achieving full potential. In his letter, he asked that why should Asians or Africans pay higher than Germans or Czechs?

Theresa May’s recent decision was not in favour of getting Britain Out’s ideas. The group wants a reduction in fees of International student. Theresa delivered an increase in fees of EU students. Get Britain Out is raising its voice and many other activists are joining the cause.

A change in favour of their ideas will result in a reduction in fees for Non-EU countries. Students from countries like India, China and Nigeria will have to pay much lower charges than before.
