Study abroad is the single most productive way of changing the way we view the world. The education system of Malaysia is growing day-by-day. “Given the rising cost of education and other related costs at 10% per annum, the sector of education is expected to generate RM15.6 billion when we hit our target of 200,000 international students by the year 2020”, the Education Ministry secretary-general, Datuk Dr Mohd Ghazali Abas of Malaysia said.
To accomplish this target, the Education Ministry secretary-general has now declared that, the average expenditure of an international student in Malaysia is about RM46, 000 per annum and will increase to RM88, 000 per annum if family members come along too.
The enrolments of international students in March 2019 has been reached up to 127,583, of which 70% are from private higher education institutions and the rest from public higher education institutions. So, to attract more and more outstanding and highly motivated international students within the country, both public and private higher education institutions are encouraged to work together.
The secretary said the rising number of overseas students in Malaysia, especially in the higher education sector, would contribute towards the country’s economic growth by having a multiplier effect with the entry of students and academic staff.

MAHSA Special Scholarships at MAHSA University in Malaysia, 2019 is open for international students. The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract the best brain from around the world to pursue advanced academic studies in Malaysia. To be eligible, the candidate must have obtained the CGPA of 3.5/4.0 at bachelor degree level. The scholarship will provide tuition fees & monthly maintenance allowance, annual grant for books, internal travel medical / health insurance and etc.

Applications are invited for postgraduate programs open to all Malaysian as well as international students at International Medical University.
