Germany is becoming the top destination for immigration after Canada. If you are also an immigration aspirant and looking forward to a great future for yourself in Germany, then it will be helpful for you to know about the high demand jobs in Germany.

The top jobs expected to be in demand by 2020 will be for research, engineering, business, healthcare and teaching professionals. High-level specialists in these fields are expected to recruit 25 per cent of the workers. It is estimated that 17 per cent of the positions will be for technicians, while 14 per cent of the positions will be available to clerical support staff.

Medical profession:  As Germany faces a shortage of medical practitioners, foreigners with a medical degree can enter the country and receive a license for medical practice here.

For Germany, however, their certification must be equal to the medical degree. A senior doctor in Germany can hope to earn around €116,900 annually while a specialist doctor can earn €78,000 annually.

Engineering profession: Fabrication and software are taking centre stage when it comes to Germany. This means more engineering work openings and thus better pay. Top paid employees in this field are patent engineers involved in preparing and enforcing patent applications.

That place is of importance in manufacturing companies. A patent engineer can expect an annual payment of 72,000 Euros. Another top job in the sector is an insurance engineer who can earn around €71,000 a year. Insurance engineers are usually on demand from insurance companies to assist in carrying out assessments.

Finance professions: The finance sector offers skilled professionals with plenty of employment opportunities. A fund manager in Germany can hope to earn €75,800 a year while a corporate finance manager can expect to earn €75,400 a year.

Sales professionals:  With the rise of the retail sector, there are plenty of job opportunities for foreigners. Retail sales and sales assistants are in demand for professionals trained.

The primary requirement for these positions is to consider what the customer needs, and to boost sales. Foreigners may apply for a two to three-year apprenticeship in which a permanent employment contract may be offered to them.

STEM field and health-related occupations are expected to be the top jobs in Germany by 2020. Top jobs will be in the fields of engineering, mechanical, electrical, and IT. Here is a list of the top occupations that are expected to be in high demand this year:

Senior Doctor

A senior doctor, also called a head physician, chief physician, senior specialist, or chief of medicine is a doctor in a hospital or other institution’s senior management position. This is the title of the most senior doctor in many organizations, but it can also be used as the title of the most senior doctor in a single department of a broader institution.      

Average Salary: 116,900 Euros

Specialist Doctor

Speciality doctors have training in a particular area of medicine. This helps them to deal with complicated health issues that primary care doctors may not be able to handle. Allergists, Dermatologists, Infectious disease doctors, Ophthalmologists, Obstetrician/gynaecologists, Cardiologists, Endocrinologists, Gastroenterologists and Nephrologists are the examples of Speciality doctors.

Average Salary: 78,000 Euros

Fund Manager

A fund manager is responsible for executing the investment plan for a fund and overseeing the portfolio trading activities. One person can manage the fund, two as co-managers, or a team of three or more individuals. Fund managers are charged a fee for their work which reflects a percentage of the total assets under management (AUM) of the fund.

Average Salary: 75,800 Euros

Corporate Finance Manager

Corporate Finance Managers are responsible for the detection and securing of merger and acquisition transactions, the management and allocation of substantial monetary funds and the procurement and selling of financial goods. The Corporate Finance Manager oversees the company’s financial operations and undertakes all strategic financial preparation and reporting to stakeholders.

Average Salary: 75,400 Euros

Key Account Manager 

A business headquarters is appointed main account manager to supervise the account team assigned to a specific account. Key account management covers advertising but also the preparation and management of the whole relationship between a company and its most significant clients.

Average Salary: 72,600 Euros

Patent Engineer 

A Software Engineer develops and maintains the software, Electronics Engineer handles electronics gadgets, and likewise, Patent Engineer handles patent prosecution and maintenance. A patent engineer can earn more than other professions in engineering.

Average Salary: 72,000 Euros

Insurance Engineer

Insurance companies employ skilled manufacturing engineers. They need engineers who understand their area of engineering well so that they can make the best decisions for their customers. The risk assessment will be a considerable part of your work.

Your research and design experience will be of help in the insurance industry. You would also need to be an expert communicator while communicating and explaining to clients.

Average Salary: 71,000 Euros

Regional Sales Manager

Regional managers decide the operating practices of all the stores in the region, ensuring that each one operates smoothly, cleanly, adheres to marketing and promotional plans, and meets budget and sales objectives. Regional managers create and maintain budgets, and coordinate with senior management within the company and report to them.

Average Salary: 70,800 Euros

Lawyer/Legal Advisor 

A legal advisor is a lawyer who gives legal advice to a large company or organization. They may be called “in-house attorneys,” “in-house counsel” or “corporate counsel.” A legal counsel is usually trained in a specific field of law. They may be involved in labour disputes or contract disputes, questions of pay, discrimination cases or other conflicts at work.

Average Salary: 69,000 Euros

Sales Engineer

A sales engineer is someone who sells to company’s complex scientific and technical products or services. They must have detailed knowledge of the parts and functions of the products and must understand the processes of science that make such products work. We sometimes work under stressful circumstances, as their income and job security rely on completing sales successfully.

Average Salary: 68,000 Euros
