Top 10 Study Room Ideas

You are here: Home / Blog / Top 10 Study Room Ideas

November 11, 2019 //  by Amit Kumar

Creating the best environment for studying is very important and probably a very under-rated task. Being in the perfect study room can increase the chances of being productive significantly. Here are some of the tips which you can follow while deciding to create the best study room for yourself.

Table of Contents

  • Arranging the Room
  • Keep a Sofa or Couch
  • Don’t be Distracted by Design
  • Choosing the Right Furniture
  • Personalizing the Study Space
  • Keep Inspiring Yourself
  • Keep a Calendar
  • To-do-list
  • Storage Space
  • Ambience

Arranging the Room

You must predefine a sacred area in your room which will be only utilized with the purpose of studies/research or completing projects or reading books. For this area, the best place to select is the one which has a window nearby so that while you are studying, you get enough sunlight and air to keep yourself from drifting to sleep.

In addition to this, arranging yourself a sacred space will also help you not get distracted while doing something.

Keep a Sofa or Couch

It is a great idea to keep a sofa or a couch in the opposite direction of your study area in the room. If you don’t have enough space in your room, then you can relax, this is not a mandatory step. The couch/sofa will help you for resting your back a little, and you can continue your study/work right there relaxing a little.

Don’t be Distracted by Design

If too lucrative plans distract you, then it is a good idea not to have them in the first place at all. You can go ahead with a very minimalistic sort of design to keep yourself focused on your work.

Choosing the Right Furniture

It is not just the design, but also the kind of furniture that you have in your study room. Your chair should not cramp you while you are doing your work, and the table should not feel at an uncomfortable height. You can also add some table lamps in case you want the direct focus of light on what you are working on.

Personalizing the Study Space

Whenever you sit on the chair and start with your work, you should not feel like you are at a place where you don’t belong. Everything around you should be very personalized to make you feel comfortable, and at a home where you feel like everything is at its right place, so you don’t get distracted in between.

Keep Inspiring Yourself

You can probably put some inspiring art or quotes right in front of your table so that whenever you sit to work/study, you get motivated from it and give your best shot. You can also keep some of the feedbacks about your work that push you to do well.

Keep a Calendar

A calendar is one of the most important things to have in front of you. You should mark all the critical days, which include festivals and public holidays. Also, targets and milestones that you have set should be defined by a specific period or date. A calendar helps you be in track with your goals.

To-do-list

Making a to-do list is an essential job since it includes everything that you have to do in a day. Having it right in front of you will keep you from getting distracted from things that aren’t in line with your goals.

Storage Space

Make sure that your study room has enough storage space for whatever you are working on or will work on in future. Get storage almirahs so that you can also divide and store your work based on their foundation or category.

Ambience

Keep your study room always lit up with comfortable lighting, which is neither too fancy nor too low-key. You can also use room sprays for removing bad odour.
