Many international students interested in studying in the US, but there is a long way to go to get F1 visa. When applying for an F1 student visa, you have to give an interview at the United States Consulate or Embassy in your country. It is essential to prepare in advance for the interview so that you can perform well no matter what your interviewer asks you.

So, here are some tips across the visa interview for international students.

  • 1. Get Your Papers:
  • 2. Dress Up
  • 3. Don’t Stress About It
  • 4. Plans after Studies
  • 5. Financial Documents
  • 6. Program Details and Further Plans
  • 7. Prepare Yourself
  • 8. Be Concise

1. Get Your Papers:

US Embassy’s website states that you only need these documents with your passport like ds-160 confirmation, application feed, payment receipt, photo, Form I-20. But it’s also mentioned out there that you should have your academy documents such as transcripts, diplomas, your mark sheets the schools your attendant and GRE, TOEFL score. They also want your money explanation on what are you going to do after your course is open and how will you pay your education reliving and travel costs.

There’s a list of documents which will be needed. They can ask for anything related to your finance and education no mark sheet certificate degree if you do not have a degree, you can give them a provisional degree that works fine. Almost everyone takes a bunch of documents so don’t be scared about that.

2. Dress Up

You are what you wear! You are going to meet somebody for less than 10 minutes you do not want to give a real wrong floating impression. Interviewing at the consulate is probably the most exciting part of the process and the most stressful because you will eventually find out if you will get your US visa. The most important thing is that the choice you make with your clothes make you feel comfortable and give you confidences.

An outfit should be comfortable and smart. If you are not comfortable with what you wear for a US visa interview, your uneasiness will show. You mustn’t want yourself to be like many sweaty and nervous, and you’re wearing a suit even if you don’t wear it every day, so be comfortable but look sharp.

3. Don’t Stress About It

You have got admission from a great university you made it out of hundreds of applications who have applied to that program. Be confident, know your stuff if you will be stressed they will understand and you’re going to tend to make mistakes that you must not do.

4. Plans after Studies

Interviewer asking about your plans after you graduates now this is a tricky question. Because many people say directly that they have a plan to settle down after f1 visa. You just say you have just come here to study, and your goal is to go back to your country not to settle in the US. Or you can make it attractive by telling: After my master, I would love to use my skill set which I learned from college to implement in the real world and get some experience and then come back and start my own company.

5. Financial Documents

They will ask the question of who is going to fund you? Honestly tell them that, my parents or other family members are going to sponsoring my visa. Be honest with your answers and have every document ready related to finance, whether its bank, to make them sure about it.

6. Program Details and Further Plans

Know your program for which you are going and know exactly what you’re looking forward to going with it. There must be a reasonable explanation regarding career plans after your bachelors or master. There are some answers for that you think you want to explore more in grade your interest you think that the knowledge you have right now is insufficient or not enough for your future plans you might be switching courses.

7. Prepare Yourself

Write down everything! For some people writing down makes sense for some people just thinking about an answer to a question makes sense so whatever makes sense for you do that, but Please prepare do not wake up and go tomorrow you’ll know exactly what you want to say in front of somebody who can suggest you more.

8. Be Concise

Be Concise with your answers. You should have a direct answer ready for every question.
