This scholarship program aims to provide support to well-qualified citizens of ADB’s developing member countries to undertake postgraduate studies.
The grants are open for that citizen who undertakes postgraduates in economics, management, science and technology, and other development-related fields at participating academic institutions in the Asian and Pacific Region. It covers full school tuition, a weekly subsistence, and lodging allowance, a book and educational allowance, medical care, and travel expenses.

Eligibility Criteria
The applicant must have to meet the following eligibility criteria:
- The candidate must be an international student.
- Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for scholarships.
- A national of an ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries that are no longer borrowing from ADB is not eligible for the ADB JSP Scholarship).
- A national of the ADB borrowing member country (applicants from countries who no longer borrow from ADB are not eligible for the ADB-JSP scholarship).
- Applicants living or working in a country other than his/her home country are not eligible for scholarships.
- A bachelor’s degree or its equivalent with superior academic record.

Why Study at Asian Institute?

Benefits of the Programs
The scholarship will be awarded as follows:
- The ADB-JSP includes full school tuition, a weekly subsistence, and lodging allowance, a book and educational allowance, medical care, and travel expenses.
- The scholarship shall be applied for a period of one year to the second year of study, as appropriate subject to the continuation by the scholar of a sufficient standard of success as determined by the institute. The cumulative length of the grant is two years for masters and doctoral programs.
How to Apply for the Scholarship
For applying to theses studentships, candidates are needed to follow these steps:
Step 1: Apply for Admission
Applicants should submit documents and application forms from the Academic Institution selected and should suggest to that institution that they are applying for admission and that they would like to be eligible for the ADB-JSP Scholarship. The completed application form of the university and the necessary documents, including the ADB-JSP Information Sheet form, should be sent to the academic institution.

Entry Requirements
- Applicants must meet the general country/study curriculum entry requirement.
- You must demonstrate English language skills and meet the general admission criteria following the country/curriculum in which you studied.
- You must apply applications for scholarships at least six months prior to the scheduled period you plan to begin your studies.
- Please adhere to the usual month of enrollment and the registration date for participating in academic institutions.
Visa Requirements
Please carry your ADB confirmation letter of registration along with your passport, entry visa (if applicable), and passport control at the point of entry (e.g. airport) to the Philippines. The immigration and entry protocols of the Philippines must be met by all visitors (official or personal) and your sponsorship or invitation by ADB does not waive any of the legal requirements of the Philippines. Often, everyone is reminded to comply with the applicable immigration criteria.
