The ordinary monthly living expenses for international students in Denmark are between 800 and 1200 Euros per month. The cost can be higher if you have great taste and top spending habits. You should get prepared to spend more if your school is in Copenhagen, the Danish capital.

Accommodation Expenses

More than half of your monthly expenses go for accommodation. Accommodation charges range between 400 and 670 Euros in many Danish cities. You can spend up to 800 – 900 Euros monthly if you are in Copenhagen.

Students who are not citizens of EU/EEA and Switzerland must have a residence permit before studying in any Danish University. It will take about two months to process the residence permit, and it will cost 255 Euros.

Meanwhile, students of EU/EEA and Switzerland will be allowed to live and study in any Danish university for three months without a work permit. After which they are required to apply for a registration certificate. The certificate is free, and the processing duration is three days.
