Some Universities Welcome International Students in Nova Scotia

The Canadian government says that certain colleges and universities are now allowed to come back to international students who are not present in Canada.

The list of institutions was released on Tuesday, and there are several Nova Scotian universities and colleges on the list.

Twenty-three designated learning institutions (DLIs), including Nova Scotia language schools, colleges and universities, are now ready to welcome international students back to Canada. On November 3, 2020, Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC) applied to their list of learning institutions able to accept international students.

Those on the list must have COVID-19 preparedness measures in place that have been approved by the province, the federal government said.

It provides a comprehensive overview of how to handle the mandatory 14-day isolation for international students, including transportation to the student quarantine site.

It also provides information about how students can be helped by the purchase of food and medicine during quarantine, health insurance, and health services while in Canada.List of Colleges and Universities that can welcome International Students

23 institutions in Nova Scotia are ready to welcome back international students that include:

• Acadia University
• Cape Breton University
• Dalhousie University
• Eastern College – (Halifax)
• Halifax Language Institute of Canada
• Mount Saint Vincent University
• Nova Scotia College of Art and Design (NSCAD)
• Nova Scotia Community College
• Saint Mary’s University
• St. Francis Xavier University
• Université Sainte-Anne
• University of King’s College

Several more NS. Colleges and language learning institutions also welcome international students. Only students who have already enrolled in the university will return to Canada.

In Atlantic Canada, 46 universities are permitted to accept back students. There are three in Newfoundland and Labrador, five in the PEI and 15 in New Brunswick.

IRCC said, “If the DLI of foreign students is not included in the list, you cannot move to Canada to study at this time. If you want to fly to Canada because your DLI is not included, you will not be able to board your flight, or you may be dropped off at the port of entry. “Any DLI that no longer satisfies its provincial or territorial public health criteria may be excluded.
