Several Activities And Programs Organized For Summer in Australia For International Students

Pandemic imposed a lot of travel restrictions for international students in 2020. Thousands of international students are staying back in Australia due to this reason. And going by the current situation, international students will stay back in the country during the summer break in 2021.

Summer activities for international students in Australia

The Australian government knows that thousands of international students will be spending their summer break in the country.

Australian student hubs, government city councils, and study destination agencies have planned summer holiday programs to entertain international students. They have proposed many summer holiday activities for their refreshments.

The Australian government understands international students’ problems but is helpless due to the current pandemic situation. They have even invited international students to enjoy Christmas and New year celebrations. It is high time that the Australian government does something for the international students to get something to hold onto their patients. It is not easy to stay away from their homes for so many days due to international travel restrictions. The summer activities for international students may appease and motivate them to stay back in the country in 2021.

The Australian government has proposed face to face social events, festive events, new learning opportunities, and online networking programs for international students.

Types of summer programs that international students can enjoy during their short break in 2021

Study NSW’s Summer Program will be arranging budget-friendly summer activities for the international students in Sydney. Most of the summer programs will be free for students. The program includes online internships and the City of Sydney Networking Skills 101 Program.

The Department of Education and Training in Victoria has arranged several homestay families and international students during their summer break. They are planning to give free tickets to international students for visiting popular tourist destinations. For example, international students will be getting free tickets for visiting the Melbourne Zoo.

The education department has introduced a proper guideline for the state government schools. The guideline can help these schools to help international students to enjoy all the summer activities in an organized manner

The gold coast international student community is expected to have a gala time during their summer break. Workshops, several events, and festive activities will be organized for the students. The Gold Coast Student Hub has already planned many activities to refresh the students’ minds and accelerate their careers.

The Gold Coast Student Hub is offering workshops to enhance job-seeking skills and English language proficiency. International students come from various backgrounds and countries. Thousands of students have problems in speaking fluent English, which hinders their chances to grab lucrative jobs. Workshops on enhancing English proficiency can help international students overcome their language barrier and build a flourishing career. Again the job-seeking skill is required to boost their career. International students need to know the tricks to find perfect jobs for themselves. That is not all. They should know the tricks to crack job interviews. Only stellar academic records are not enough to grab a job. Students have to know the ways to impress potential employers to get a job, especially during this pandemic.

Apart from the programs for career development, the Gold Coast Student Hub is also organizing several free social events like farm animals events, live music sessions, and gold class movie sessions to entertain students.

The ‘Summer in Adelaide‘ program is also ready to make students happy during the summer break. We are offering free events and discounts for regional tours, employment workshops, cooking classes, and other social events.

International school students in Tasmania are also likely to enjoy the summer break. They can attend English classes, explore various tourist destinations, and get an education next year.

The StudyPerth Student Hub is also not lagging behind other study destination agencies. They are planning to provide employment and networking workshops to students. They are also likely to organize social events for the students.

The territory and state and city definition programs for international students have made one point very clear. The Australian government and the study destination agencies are concerned for the welfare of international students. They do sympathize with the students who cannot go back home for more than a year. They understand the pain, frustrations, rejection, and hopelessness of the international students.

Conclusion

The Australian government’s initiative is undoubtedly commendable, especially when many countries have become hostile towards international students. Countries like the USA are planning to introduce an immigration policy where international students will be allowed to stay in the country for only four years. The wok on vaccination is going on a fast speed. And it is expected that the vaccination process will start in 2021. We do not know if the vaccination process in Australia will begin soon. If it does happen quickly, international students can go back to their homes and enjoy their families’ summer break. If it does not happen, then also international students have nothing to lose. They can attend workshops on the English language, networking, job-seeking skills, cooking, and so on.

Students who are not interested in attending workshops to flourish their careers can enjoy other government programs. They can enjoy social events, visit zoos, and explore various tourist destinations during the summer break. The best part is that international students do not have to spend a fortune on attending these events or visiting the top-notch tourist places. The government is organizing everything free of cost. In some cases, students may have to pay a small amount of money for getting these lifetime experiences. But that isn’t very important.

Let us hope that international students stranded in the country will enjoy Christmas and the New Year celebrations in Australia. Hopefully, the Australian government will come up with more fun summer activities for international students.

2020 has been dreadful for international students. We hope that 2021 will be equally beautiful and joyous for international students all across the globe.
