In the latest Saskatchewan Expression of Interest (EOI) draw a total of 576 invitations for a provincial nomination went to immigration candidates wishing to settle in Canada’s central province. The invitation has been made to candidates in the Express Entry and Occupations In-Demand categories. To be considered for this program, candidates have to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) profile with SINP.
Through this Expression of Interest (EOI system), SINP wants to invite immigration candidates with the ability to flourish in the Prairie Provinces to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residency. Aspirated candidates need to have an EOI profile and demonstrate their ability to settle in life in Saskatchewan province by describing their work experience, education, language ability, age and connections in the province.
SINP uses these five factors to assess candidates and gives them a score out of 100 on the International Skilled Worker Points Assessment Grid. Highest scoring profiles in the EOI pool are then issued invitations through frequently held express draws.
Draw date | Category | Minimum score | Invites issued |
27-Feb-2020 | Express Entry | 69 | 301 |
27-Feb-2020 | Occupations In-Demand | 69 | 275 |
There is good news with this draw that the minimum score required in the latest provincial draw of Feb 27 was 69 points which are decreased by 1 point than the last draw for both sub-categories of Express entry and Occupation in-demand.

To receive an invitation from Saskatchewan candidates are not required having job offers. But Express Entry candidates needed to have at least one year’s work experience in a qualified, skilled occupation related to their field of study.
Express Entry sub-category
In the latest invitation round, Saskatchewan issued 301 invitations to candidates in the last express entry pool. Saskatchewan’s express entry sub-category is associated with the federal express entry system which manages the pool of candidates for three of Canada’s main economic-class immigration programs:
- Federal Skilled Worker Class
- Federal Skilled Trades Class
- Canadian Experience Class
If candidates in the Federal Express Entry pool had also filled out an EOI for Saskatchewan and get the score of 69 on the point’s assessment grid of SINP than they would have been selected on 27 February.

Candidates of Express Entry who apply for and receive a provincial nomination certificate from Saskatchewan will earn an additional 600 points in the CRS score at the federal level. This will result in a guaranteed ITA from the following draw for Canada permanent residency.
Occupations In-Demand Sub-Category
Occupations In-Demand category is a chance to get immigrates to Canada to the candidates who don’t have the Express Entry profile. Two hundred seventy-five invitations for Expression of interest have been sent under this program to the candidates under the in-demand occupation sub-category.
And these candidates should have 70 marks as an express sub-category. Only the highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for the Canadian provincial nomination through a regular draw.
