It is necessary for evaluating both sides of the coin before jumping to any conclusion and living in a commonwealth state can benefit the way of life but can also limit you in different ways. In this article, we are going to have a look at the detailed pros and cons of living in a commonwealth state.

Pros of Commonwealth State:

First of all, let’s have a glance at the most cited pros of commonwealth state and these are as follows:

1) Elect their Leaders:

The election process is essential for the commonwealth and all commonwealth states elect their leaders. This is the only way that people can acquire a leadership position within the state and any person that wants to be involved in politics.

This also means that they have to sign paperwork that declares they are running for a particular office and elected officials will run a campaign staff that will help them to run for office. They will operate by certain rules for running the office and if a candidate is elected for office, they will govern themselves by the rules of that office.

There are laws and rules in place that will control their conduct, clearly explaining the expectations for their position and the office of an elected official will be held until the next election for that position.

2) Cannot Rule with Force:

Many rulers led by the force in the past and commonwealth, this type of behavior is not tolerated. They cannot use force to make people bend to their will or as means for controlling people to fulfill their agenda and certain laws are in place to protect local citizens from these types of issues.

3) Rights of Citizens are Protected:

In a commonwealth, people are given a certain amount of rights that help them to live a good life and people’s rights are fundamental.

Moreover, their rights are protected through the constitution which has been handed down to the commonwealth, and these rights are protected through laws. Laws enforcement agencies are created with commonwealth states and laws that protect people’s rights are important.

Because they help people live the best life possible and no one in a commonwealth state should live in fear of their government.

4) Have Laws to Protect its citizens:

Commonwealth has strong laws in place and that are often used to govern all facets of society and without these laws, people would make up their own rules. Thus laws in the commonwealth govern everything from education to residential property maintenance to sponsoring local events. But this is why no profits can help people give back to communities.

The laws are usually made with a commonwealth state. They are based on people, their culture, how they function and operate within their communities.

The laws are also created as a response to a certain type of crime prevalent with commonwealth states and they are also forged by the type of needs that people might have or issues that communities face within states.

5) Greater Prosperity and Freedom within Commonwealth State:

You will have greater freedom to make and keep your wealth when you live in the commonwealth. You might believe it or not in some countries a person be able to obtain wealth without someone taking it for them and also some people are not allowed to create greater wealth for themselves. This is not the case if you live in a commonwealth state and a commonwealth state will allow you to make as much as money you can.

Cons of Living in a Commonwealth State:

Now we need to switch towards the cons of living in a commonwealth state and these are as follows:

1) Needs to be Regulated Constantly:

Maintaining a commonwealth is not only expensive and it is important for keeping the commonwealth in place. People who constantly live in commonwealth must constantly make sure that their governmental system remains intact and they just cannot leave it to elected officials to perform this process.

2) Difficult to Work for a Large Group of People:

Commonwealth has a hard time unifying people on different issues and many people in the commonwealth have conflicting interests. Commonwealth needs to be governed correctly to work and function properly; political leaders and local representatives have to constantly assure that people are conducting themselves according to the land laws.

3) Power Helps to Manipulate Hungry People and the Commonwealth:

One of the bad things about the commonwealth state is that power-hungry people can manipulate it to their advantage and social interest groups can do the same. Commonwealth has to be constantly being on the watch against anyone. It is also against any group that can influence laws to gain more power, wealth, and authority over the masses and if wrong people can gain power within a commonwealth state, they usually change laws and processes.

Listed above are the pros and cons of living in a commonwealth state.
