Pros and Cons of Liposuction

Liposuction is a common type of plastic surgery for both men and women in the United States. However, it is commonly misunderstood and many people believe that liposuction is a way to quickly reduce body weight or treat obesity.

Thus the process of liposuction aims to reshape certain areas of the body. In other words, it doesn’t respond well to diet, exercise and some of these problem areas are typically thighs, abdomen, buttock, arms, and breasts.

So What Does Liposuction Means?

Liposuction is a kind of surgical procedure that removes fat in certain areas of your body using suction and these procedure cannulas. It consists of small and thin tubes with blunted tips and the surgeon will insert the cannulas through small incisions in the patient’s skin.

Then the fat is suctioned through tubes as they target certain fat deposits under the skin and later lipo can be done using traditional methods. Depending on the extent of the procedure, patients may experience restricted mobility and patients who have had their legs or ankles treated may find their ankles swelled.

Skin infection may occur after liposuction and sometimes this needs to be surgical with the risk of scarring.

If the patient is allergic to some meditations or materials used during surgery and allergic reaction shows up.
