Pros And Cons of Fasting

What is fasting?

The term fasting means to stay thirsty and hungry for a specific period in a day. The duration or days of fasting can change according to a person’s choice. On the other hand, there is a month of Ramadan considered the Holy month in Islam. Muslims have to stay hungry and thirsty for the whole day. Hence, fasting is not about being a Muslim. It is a target and goal for a person to achieve his mission. Someone prefers fasting as an exercise of his or her body. On the other hand, some of them prefer fasting just because of losing weight. In any condition, people can go through fasting. So, it does not mean to be a Muslim if you are going to plan on fasting.

There are many circumstances that a person has to face during fasting. These circumstances depend upon the pros and cons of fasting. There are many up conditions as well as down conditions to choose fasting. If you are a person with bad health, then you may not have to consider fasting. On the other hand, if you are ill and have to take medicines three times a day, then you should have to avoid fasting, and you have to take care of yourself. Hence, the explanation of fasting would never end up, so, before getting any further with the explanation of fasting, let us discuss the advantages and disadvantages of fasting.

Pros and cons of fasting

There are merits as well as demerits of fasting. People have to look to the following circumstances before getting to the routine of fasting. There are various pros and cons of fasting, but we will focus on the most common advantages and disadvantages of fasting. So, let us begin with the pros of fasting first, and then we will move towards the cons of fasting.

Pros of fasting

This is the main purpose behind people’s decision of fasting. Why people stay hungry? Why they have to stay thirsty all day? Is it good for their health? Is it good for a healthier brain? Are they have a good social life? These all questions will be covered in this section. Here are the most common advantages of fasting and why people do move towards fasting for good health. The following are the pros of fasting:

Fasting reduces health problems.

It is approved by hundreds of Doctors that fasting improves health status. Hence, it is a god antinode against diseases. If a person has a proper schedule to remain hungry and thirsty and remains stick with the fasting, he or she is more likely to be noticed in a good health than those who do not prefer fasting. So, fasting is good for reducing health problems.

Fasting lowers the risk of diseases.

Many researchers are doing their research on fasting. Some of them are approached to the conclusion that the person who remains hungry and thirsty for a specific period or is more likely to be safe against the disease attacks. When a person does not eat, his stomach kills the infection-related bacterias, and his body, as well as the nutrition system, improves. Hence, the person who attempts fasting has a good digestion system in his or her body.

Fasting is a good choice for positive body growth.

Because of fasting, there is no chance of extra fats inside a person’s body. Hence, a person (does not matter if male or female) who prefers fasting to exercise, is noticed to have more positive body growth than other family members. Hence, this parameter shows a positive side of fasting.

Fasting makes your brain healthier.

One of the main pros of fasting is that it makes your brain healthier. A person who goes with the fasting is more likely to think about the poor ones. He thinks and realizes the circumstances of others who do not have enough to eat. So, it is a great growth of mind because of fasting. Hence, we should have to prefer fasting to increase mental strength.

Fasting is good for the maintenance of your body.

As we discussed earlier that fasting reduces the extra fats to enter inside of your body. Also, because of fasting, the stomach does its job to kill the bacterial infections that cause the food to no effect inside the body. Hence, it is a great advantage of fasting.

Fasting is a good choice for positive body growth.

A person remains more positive than those who do not prefer fasting for mental growth. He or she starts to think about the poor fellows as well as their schedule. It is noticed that a person with fasting is more likely to remain busy in schedules, and he or she maintains well schedules than the others. They have everything preplanned for a day. Hence, it is good to go with fasting.

Cons of fasting

There are many disadvantages of fasting. If you are going with fasting, then you should have to think about the following consequences before you get into it. Here are the cons of fasting:

Weakness

If you are in health trouble, or you are ill, then you must not have to go with fasting. It makes you weaker.

Lack of social life

Sometimes you lose your friends who are eating in front of you or you have to suffer through it with the patient.

Aggression or anxiety

Due to weakness your aggression and anxiety increase more often than a person who is not fasting. Hence, it is a drawback of fasting for those with a bad health condition.

Fasting is a great schedule for those who want to increase their health status. It increases body growth as well as mental strength. On the other hand, if you are weak, and can not stay hungry and thirsty, then you should have to stay away.
