Pros & Cons of Cloud Computing

What is cloud computing?

Cloud computing is the utilization of computer services over the internet to ensure faster and reliable connections. These computer services include storage, databases, tools & software, stats, artificial intelligence tools, and computer networking, where computer networking means the way of communication among millions of devices. In this modern era of technology, we are getting surrounded by artificial intelligence. We find artificial intelligence in every field of our lives. Hence, while using the internet, our every activity is being noticed by artificial intelligence. So, while tracking our such activities details, artificial intelligence provides more efficient methods and results. These are the outcomes that suites our mindset or behavior.

Databases, on the other hand, are the most prominent part of cloud computing. If there is no database system, then the concept of cloud computing fails. A real-life example of such debate is the Google search engine. If the database or servers of Google fail, then the search engine will not work, and people would face problems in getting results.

Online tools using cloud computing to provide feasibilities are the most prominent part of the online world. One of the great examples of such tools is Turnitin and Copyscape. Both have the ability to plagiarism in any article or research paper. Both are the tools and are using cloud computing services to provide a better outcome.

The debate on cloud computing will never end up, so we should have to move towards our topic. Hence, before getting any further with the topic cloud computing explanation. Let us discuss the pros and cons first.

Pros and Cons of Cloud Computing

Anything that makes our lives easier has drawbacks as well. Similar is the case with cloud computing. If we are enjoying telecommunication features with cloud computing, then we face some challenging circumstances as well. Let us discuss the advantages and disadvantages of cloud computing. We will continue with the pros of cloud computing first, and then we will further move towards the cons of cloud computing.

Pros of Cloud Computing

As discussed in the explanation of cloud computing that provides us features to use computer services. These services are accessible online with a computer server or connecting through the internet. It provides a more reliable way to do our jobs. There are many such pros of cloud computing a few of them are as follows:

  1. Cloud computing reduces the cost
  2. Cloud computing consolidates the data
  3. Cloud computing defends against disaster
  4. More server uptime with the help of cloud computing
  5. Cloud computing enhances collaboration and communication among business
  6. Cloud computing increases the automation concept
  7. Cloud computing enhances compliance

Cloud computing reduces the cost.

While considering companies at a large scale, storage of data is more costly. Companies can not afford such an amount of money to ensure data storage to keep records effectively and efficiently. Hence, cloud computing takes place to reduce their cost. According to Global Cloud Services Market (GCSM), the companies that focus on cloud computing save more money and save up to 35 percent of the cost.

Cloud computing consolidates the data.

Cloud-storage makes it easier to maintain records online. The company can fetch its data from the cloud anytime. There is no need to find out in which storage data is present. Hence, cloud computing is the best to utilize.

Cloud computing defends against disaster.

In this world, we find many kinds of people nearby. Some are good persons, and others are opposite. Similar is the case with white hat hackers and the black hat hackers. Hackers steal the personal records of companies and then demand money. Many of the companies worldwide are the victims of millions of dollars in such cases.

More server uptime with the help of cloud computing

Cloud computing reduces the waiting time to find any record and provides efficiency to save more time. The server uptime enhances more with the use of cloud computing. That is the reason why large-scale companies are shifting towards cloud computing features to maintain records.

Cloud computing enhances collaboration and communication among businesses.

Company owners can now communicate with each other with the help of cloud computing. They can show off their products online to secure deals while sitting in the offices.

Cloud computing increases the automation concept.

The automation concept takes place with cloud computing. As discussed earlier, we find artificial intelligence everywhere in our lives. So, artificial intelligence keeps track of our records and provides more efficient automation in our duties.

Cloud computing enhances compliance.

Cloud computing also enhances compliance to make our lives easier. In this new era, we do not need to have labored to maintain any kinds of job. That has turned possible just because of the existence of cloud computing.

Cons of cloud computing

There are many disadvantages of cloud computing. Let us discuss a few most common ones. Here are the cons of cloud computing:

  1. Understanding the total cost
  2. Moving from cloud to local storage
  3. Limited Controls
  4. Vendor problems
  5. Backup and restoring issues

Understanding the total cost

While on cloud computing, understanding the total cost is more challenging.

Moving from cloud to local storage

There is a problem that a person has to face while shifting towards local storage from cloud storage.

Limited Controls

Controls in cloud computing are much more limited.

Vendor problems

Vendors are bound with online systems and cannot escape as they have their customers online. Sometimes deals can not secure due to cloud computing errors.

Backup and restoring issues

The backup and restoring process of cloud computing is lazier. Creating a restore point is time-consuming.

Conclusion

In final thoughts, cloud computing provides us computer services online. The features that are accessible online are named database, storage system, networking, etc. On the other hand, the backup and restore system of cloud computing is more irritating as it takes more time. Hence, this is one of the most common cons of cloud computing. Cloud computing also saves time and storage in some sense.
