Pros of the Air Force

First of all, let’s have a look at the pros of the air force and these are as follows:

1) Careers Ensure Financial Security After Retirement

You would always be taken care of by the government as you live financially.

2) Offer Jobs that Permit One to Travel

You will travel, go around the world and live a jet-setting lifestyle being a pilot of the air force. This is only as much as you do while at it and also you cannot be a perennial tourist and your travels will come with great responsibilities.

3) Careers Help a Person to Stay Healthy and Fit

You will ensure you remain fit and healthy when you indulge yourself in physical activities all the time under training and discipline. Especially these days when there are obese people than healthy people, then this is surely a great reward.

4) Offers Personal Security

You will be paid considerably well and have all your interests looked after by joining the air force and what’s more, is that your insurance will be extremely significant where you will get lifetime medical insurance.

Not only this, but you will also receive your benefits but also your family government pays for same and you will need yourself to get embroiled in formalities. Because the administration would take care of all the things including paperwork.

5) Jobs Contain a Sense of Thrill

Getting to have the chance to use high weapon end and gadgets are just minor things. You will get to fly some of the best aircraft in the world and you will be amid technological gifts all the time. Moreover,  a pilot to get such thrills as every department can be fun.

6) Glamour and Respect for Service Personnel

Aspiring for a higher rank and having a certain rank is the thing that can surely make your life worthwhile and being a commander or decorated officer can bring in a lot of satisfaction for you. You will be respected by your immediate family members being an air force officer and then the whole country would even come together to respect you if there is a substantial achievement in your career.

7) Person will Gain Access to Best Military Schools and Colleges

There will be no limit to how much you learn as a member of the air force. And the best part is the government will refund your educational aspirations. You don’t need to worry about insurance or anything that can tool you financially.

8) Offer Job Security

It does not matter if there is a recession and this is a great advantage of joining the air force. If a certain industry is falling, then there exists a massive policy reform that would change the nature of such a career, and whatever happens job in the air force is secured.

You will also be getting paid your salary and benefits unless you indulge in improper acts and get dishonorably discharged from duty.

9) Free Housing and Healthcare

The air force offers all its airmen and their family’s world-class insurance plans and they receive low-cost, full medical and dental careers at military and civilian faculties. Airmen also get full pay and allowance during sick days. They are also given low-cost life insurance and when it comes to housing, members who have dependents can live on base in military family housing offered for the free or off base.

Cons of the Air Force

Let’s switch towards the cons of the air force and these are as follows:

1) Poses Difficulty into a Career

The physical requisites, training, medicals, and other attributes that are required will make it difficult for you to get into the air force, and considering these not everyone can get into this military branch.

2) Careers Make People Homesick and Require a Bond of Service Tenure

You will move away from your family members, friends, or possibly years which can be disappointing in the air force. You will be required to undertake a minimum period of service and this bond will not allow you to quit the service once you complete your training.

You are then given an option to quit during training. It is given on the condition that you need to repay the amount that has been spent on you by the government.

3) Comes with the Risk of Casualty and Implements a Foreign Policy

This risk can only be negligible when you are assigned on the ground. It also keeps you away from war zones. Times of conflict and international deputations will increase the risk of being causality on the action and also foreign affairs policy seems to be imperialistic which has become a hot issue in the debate.

4) Jobs are Glamorous but not All

It is important to note that not all jobs in the air force are glamorous. On the other hand, some assignments can be boring as ordinary jobs such as facilitation and support functions.

It does not just require you to sit in the back offices crunching numbers and however, you can still take pride in the fact that you are contributing to national welfare and security.

5) Poses a Risk of Being Sexually Harassed

This factor does not just loom large in the air force. But there also exists in the military branch, generally happening in women and being a male-dominated field, this trend heightens the misery. The air force policy will surely give assurance of justice especially when it comes to such a case.

Bottom Line

These are the pros and cons of joining the air force and these are also existent in other military branches. But joining the air force is the spirit that comes from within.
