The position is available in the research group of Professor Haman in the Multiscale Biology section of the Department of Biology. Background information about the Multiscale Biology section and the Department of Biology can be found here: http://www.bio.ntnu.no/eng/.
Further information about the research area and specific interests of the research group can be found in two recent publications: Gigli-Bisceglia et al., Cell and Molecular Life Sciences 2020; Vaahtera et al., Nature Plants 2019.
The PhD project is part of a research project funded by the Norwegian research council. The project aims to investigate the mode of action of the cell wall integrity maintenance mechanism. Knowledge about and experience in experimental plant biology are required.
You will report to Thorsten Hamann.

PhD positions main objective is to qualify for work in research positions.
The qualification requirement is that you have completed a master’s degree or second degree (equivalent to 120 credits) with a strong academic background in [subject area] or equivalent education with a grade of B or better in terms of NTNU’s grading scale.
If you do not have letter grades from previous studies, you must have an equally good academic foundation.
If you are unable to meet these criteria you may be considered only if you can document that you are particularly suitable for education leading to a PhD degree.
The appointment is to be made in accordance with the regulations in force concerning State Employees and Civil Servants and national guidelines for appointment as PhD, post doctor and research assistant.
