H1B visa aspirants heave a sigh of relief as H1B visa suspension, implemented by former US President Trump, has expired.

The expiration indicates that international students have not to wait for President Joe Biden to invalidate the order. Many students anticipated that H-1B visa suspension to be lifted by President Biden, who has adopted a significantly more candid approach to visas and immigration than the former president.

This happens after Biden withdrew Trump’s executive order suspending the issuance of green cards. In response, Trump argued it was in the best interest of the American economy. On the contrary, Biden replied that it harms the US, including by preventing certain family members of US citizens and lawful permanent residents from joining their families here. It has also damaged industries in the US that utilize expertise from around the world.

The H-1B visa is allotted to high-skilled immigrants, including business master’s and MBA graduates, to serve in pursuit of professions in the US. It offers countless advantages to those who hold it. The US grants 85,000 H-1B visas yearly through a lottery system. Acknowledging the prolonged process involved with finding an employer, being selected in the lottery, and then being approved, the H-1B visa is quite beneficial.

The H-1B visa ban has finally expired after the 10 months of suspension of the US post-study work visa, formerly imposed by former President Trump.

Why is the end of the H-1B visa halt good news?

The international students who are considering applying to US business school, the end of the H-1B visa halt is a vital boost to your prospects of staying to work in the US after graduation.

With the H1B visa selection system now subsist again, US immigration is flattering more friendly to international students. Even grads in the Optional Practical Training (OPT) program apply for the H1B visa to continue working and staying in the US.

MBA and master’s students have a significant advantage in this visa system. They can apply twice per period for the lottery, one with their bachelor’s degree and again with their master’s degree.

Alums from STEM(science, technology, engineering, and mathematics) certified programs prove yet better. They are awarded OPT extension for a couple of years, which provides them additional opportunities to apply for the lottery.

High-skilled immigrants possessing the H1B visa work in specific professions in the US. A fair percentage of high-skilled immigrants come from India and aim to work in IT, they staff numerous Silicon Valley companies which are greeting the reinstated H1B visa application.

The H-1B visa permits international alums to work in the US for at least three years.

When will the application process start for H1B visas?

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services(USCIS) has declared the dates to start the application process for H-1B visa via sponsoring employees.

According to USCIS, the application process for the fiscal year 2022, will start from 9 March and will continue till 25 March.

The United States Citizenship and Immigration Services can allow a maximum of 65,000 H-1B visas in a year. USCIS has been prioritizing lofty earners in the H1B visa selection system.

The Bidden presidency earlier reported that it would continue with the traditional lottery system to allot H1-B visas till December 31, 2021.

The expiration of the H1-B visa suspension also signifies that all US strategic goals existing in different countries, as they would be able to issue fresh worker visas. Therefore, allowing even the US-based IT companies to commence hiring international skilled workers over.
