Ontario PNP Issued 703 Invitations for Express Entry Candidates

Express Entry is the program that handles three types of federal immigration applications: the Federal Skilled Workers Program, the Federal Skilled Trades Program and the Canadian Experience Group.

Now, Ontario PNP issued 703 invitations for express entry candidates with work experience in targeted occupations on August 26. To be invited in the latest invitation round, Express Entry candidates needed a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score of 466 to 475.

If candidates successfully receive the nomination, an additional 600 CRS points are automatically awarded which will effectively guarantee them an Invitation to Apply in a subsequent Express Entry drawing. That applies to any winning candidates for the Provincial Nominee Program (PNP).

The selected candidates must have relevant work experience in the nine priority occupations mentioned below. The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) has invited applicants to apply for a provincial nomination if they have work experience in one of the following professions:

NOC CodesJob Description
NOC 0111Financial Managers
NOC 0124Advertising, Marketing and Public Relations Managers
NOC 0601Corporate Sales Managers
NOC 1111Financial Auditors and Accountants
NOC 1114Other Financial Officers
NOC 1122Professional Occupations in Business Management Consulting
NOC 3012Registered Nurses and Registered

Applicants must apply under the Human Capital Priorities Stream to receive the provincial nomination from Ontario and have at least one year’s experience in one of the above occupations.

The work experience must have been acquired from the date of application within the last five years. It might have been gained in Canada or abroad, but it must have been “continuous,” meaning no job break for one year. It’s acceptable to have back-to-back jobs in the same profession but with different employers.

The job of the candidate who qualified them for an Ontario invitation must be the same primary occupation as that identified by the candidate in their Express Entry profile.

The federal government allocated 7,600 principal immigration applicants through the OINP this year. This allocation includes 250 temporary workers nominations for intermediate skilled occupations or skill level C of the National Occupation Classification (NOC).
