New Zealand International Students’ Association Welcomes Foreign Students

In the year 2018, the New Zealand universities and colleges saw a drastic increase in the number of international students, which is continuing. The New Zealand international students’ association even though welcomes the increasing number of students into the country they also ask the authorities to enhance their education programs as well.

The increasing number of students has been leading to quite a few complications in the education system lately, such as:

• Absence of a leader for the international students in the university’s academy boards and policy committee.
• The decreasing number of accommodations for international students.
• Faculty staff is not matching up to the number of students. Hence the education system is partially hampered as proper care is not given to every student.
• Poor strategies to assimilate international students and domestic students.
• Exhaustion of basic needs as well.

But recently the changes became pretty prominent, and the scenario for international students has improved in New Zealand as well. The high commissioner of New Zealand Joanna Kemper stated that New Zealand would improve its policies associated with the education system.

They have been putting special emphasis on the Indian students and will be conducting fair all across the country to attract a number of Indian students into New Zealand’s universities.

Kemper believes that coming to a new place for studying is a better opportunity than living in the hometown and pursuing an education. This process of moving out helps a student grow as an individual and also makes them open to a better number of exposures as well.

New Zealand universities are improving their policies on training students and also thriving to provide a better environment for the students who are studying there. There has been a lot of controversies earlier, but that certainly did not suppress the urge of New Zealand to welcome new international students and help them by providing quality education.

Previously there has been a lot of complaints arising how racism discouraged students from mixing up with each other and also how the lack of faculty hampered the situation of education in New Zealand.

Also, there was a barrier set up by Michael Gilchrist from Tertiary Education Union States, where a criterion was set up for the admission of international students in order to suppress the number of students coming to New Zealand to study. The limit imposed on the admission can be a cap or a ban or a quota system to limit the number of international students.

But according to The New Zealand international students’ association, this decision is not fair, and such decisions are utterly racist and biased. But according to Gilchrist, this was the only better way to stop the increasing number of international students and thereby enrich the quality of education in New Zealand.

Despite such complicated, fortunately, no such quota or changes have been imposed on the international student forum and New Zealand is welcoming them and providing them with all the best possibilities to flourish.
