Canada opens up a wider path of immigration in 2020 by declaring its first round of invitations to skilled workers and international graduates. Under Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) has invited 186 candidates to apply for a provincial nomination on EOI draw.
The MPNP issues Letter of Advice to Apply (LAA) to the highly skilled candidates from the pool from three streams.
- Skilled workers in Manitoba: 122
- Skilled Workers Overseas: 42
- International Education: 22
Manitoba Express Entry Latest Invitations
Manitoba has always been a desired province in Canada for international immigrants. Manitoba was the first Canadian province to establish its own immigration program (MPNP). In 2019, Manitoba already issued more than six thousand invitations and made many to get Canadian PR easily. This year also, Manitoba draws brings 186 applicants to get their one step closer.
MPNP’s skilled workers in the Manitoba Stream currently employ temporary overseas workers and international graduates in Manitoba with previous work experience for permanent, full-time jobs in the province.
Eligibility for MPNP
In order to be eligible to get Manitoba EOI draw, candidates of Express Entry are ranked based on their Comprehensive Ranking Systems (CRS) scores like human capital factors such as age, eligible work experience, education, and language ability. The highest-scoring candidates can easily apply for Canadian PR with the coming draws of Express Entry pool.
The Express Entry system manages three categories of candidates in Canada’s leading Economic-Class immigration: the Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
Applicants who have a provincial nomination are awarded an additional 600 points towards their express entry CRS score. And this guarantees an invitation to apply for Canadian permanent residency at a subsequent Federal Express entry draw.
Expression of Interest
To be considered for a provincial nomination from Manitoba through the Skilled Worker in Manitoba and Skilled Worker Overseas categories, applicants need to get registered under Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP. A set number o highly scoring aspirants receive a letter of advice to apply (LAA) from the MNMP. They may then submit the application for the provincial nomination for Canadian PR.
An EOI is an online profile excluded from a score of 1,000. Points will be awarded for a candidate’s education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and proficiency in English or French, among other factors. Twenty-four letters of advice were issued to candidates who have a valid job seeker validation code and Express Entry ID out of 186 letters of advice to apply.
In this latest draw, the minimum CRS score for Skilled Workers in Manitoba stream was 534, and for Skilled Workers Overseas stream in this draw was 708. Minimum requirements for Express entry candidates include the following:
- Profile in Federal Express Entry System
- Job Seeker verification code
- Minimum of six months of work experience is required in any occupation listed on Manitoba’s list of in-demand occupations.
MPNP’s Skilled Worker Overseas and Skilled Worker in Manitoba
The MPNP directly invite the 42 candidates who were invited through the Skilled Worker Overseas Stream as part of the strategic recruitment initiative. The skilled worker overseas stream at MPNP program Foreign Stream targets eligible foreign candidates based outside of Canada, to meets the following requirements:
- Acquaint with family members, friends, in Manitoba or possess some previous education or work experience in Manitoba.
- To qualify successfully, candidates need to be present in Manitoba at the time of application.
MPNP’s skilled workers in the Manitoba Stream currently employ temporary foreign workers and international graduates in Manitoba with previous work experience, full-time jobs in the province. It evaluates the profiles of qualified candidates placed in the Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) pool and scores them out of 1,000. The lowest score for skilled workers in the Manitoba Stream in this draw was 534.
MINP International Education Stream
Manitoba graduates with in-demand skills may be invited under the International Education Stream. This stream includes three sub-categories:
- Career Employment Pathway
- Graduate Internship Pathway
- International Student Entrepreneur Pilot
This stream targets eligible international graduates who have completed education from Manitoba post-secondary institutions. Students who want to go with this profile for MPNP’s nomination can submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) to the MPNP. Candidates can rank in the pool, on the basis of education, work experience, language proficiency, connections in Manitoba and more. Only higher-scoring candidates receive LAAs through regular draws.
