Japanese Government Welcomes More International Students

The Japanese Ministry of Education decides to make international studies in Japan more accessible to international students. The education ministry is creating partnerships with many Asian countries.

Japan is one of the most advanced countries on this planet. It stands along with the cheaper alternatives when compared to the expensive Universities of America and Canada.

There are some requirements for those who want to study in Japan because it is a country rich in culture and appeals everyone to follow its traditions, show respect and regard to locals and to strictly obey the laws.

Apart from these, Students must learn Japanese too, it will help them to understand Japan better, and will help them during their stay in Japan. Its recommended by many former international students. Even a little knowledge of Japanese will help even you can’t speak fluently.

Expenses in Japan

Japan is very affordable when it comes to the accommodation, living to travel, it costs around 12000 to 18000 US dollars per year, while studying in Japan excluding a one-time admission fee of 2760 US dollars. That is much lower than the Universities charging in the UK and the US.

As far as accommodation is concerned. There are two types of accommodations. One is a dormitory, and the other is an apartment. Living in a dormitory is cheaper than the apartment, but you have to limit your personal space. The average monthly rent for an apartment is around 1500$ and the dormitory cost about 330$ per month. Even good alternatives are available like capsule hostels and couch surfing.

The Education System of Japan

It is a myth about Japan is that its education system is not equal and comparable to the western education system, but it is false. Japan has some of the most high-ranking Universities in the world.

This myth is a natural reaction it’s because the price-quality expectation of everyone, and in Japan, cheaper doesn’t always mean poor quality.

The Waseda University was rated 201st in the World and that is quite impressive when compared to other institutions around the world.  In QS world university rankings 2016-2017 it featured 39 Universities from Japan.

Work and Study in Japan

Students are not allowed to work full-time, but they can work part-time, in various areas ranging from adult entertainment, teaching languages, and much more. The basic minimum wage is 800 yen which is 7.36 dollars in USD.

Other jobs which involve high requirements pay up to 40,000 Yuan, which is around 400$ per month and that is the upper limit to what students can earn, working part-time for about 5 hours or more.

Many Job agents scam international students for a tiny commission and offer them some work that will pay them 8$ per hour eventually making them able to make 200,000 to 300,000 yuan per month and even sending some back to the family.

Beware of these offers and stay away from anything which sounds unrealistic.
