Israel Launches New Brain Gain Program for International Students

Although Israel already has a thriving overseas student population, the Israeli Government has announced a new higher education program to double the number of international students.

The Higher Education Council of Israel launches the new program to improve brain gain and skilled labour in Israel.

New applications from International students are invited with foreign qualifications by nine universities in Israel.

By choosing to study in Israel, you can be part of exceptional institutions, famous for startup culture and technological advances. You can be part of a big international community, with over 12000 students from around the world.

Unlike other countries like Australia and the UK, the Israeli government has a clear objective of keeping international students in the state to increase brain gain.

Higher education in Israel is subsidised but not free. The cost of education varies in Israel with tuition fees varying depending on the level of study and university. However, this is much cheaper than America, the UK or Australia, where international students pay a much higher price.

In Israel, students generally pay nearby US$9,000-14,000 per year for undergraduate and postgraduate courses.

The Council for Higher Education of Israel recently recognised 26 new global degree courses at the nine Israeli institutions. The programs are focused on culture, STEM and business-related courses such as in entrepreneurship, science, Middle Eastern studies, agriculture and environmental studies.

Top universities in Israel are

Tel Aviv University = Ranking 189th
Hebrew University of Jerusalem = Ranking 201–250th
Technion Israel Institute of Technology = Ranking 401–500th
Bar-Ilan University = Ranking 501–600th

All the courses will be teched in English for this brain gain program.
