International Students are“Cash Cows” at Australian Universities

You are here: Home / Blog / International Students are“Cash Cows” at Australian Universities

June 20, 2019 //  by Amit Kumar

The rapid increase in the international students has led to claim that Australia’s undergraduate and postgraduate universities are treating these students as “cash cows” to be profited for rewarding fees and profits. The enquires about the tuition fees for bachelor of commerce scholars at the University of Melbourne highlights many trends more personally.

According to the reports of Jerry Zheng, one of the content editors at OneClass, the global students saw a big $6,456 boost in tuition fees in between the years 2015 and 2019 which happened to be 9.3 times more than the steady increase in domestic tuition bill over a similar period.

Many classified education providers are queued-up to cash in, with worldwide students services. Teaching and learning centers of Australia while preparing for an (IPO) Initial Public Offering of the reverse of surging revenue from global students. ECA told finance managers that it makes around $100 million a year along the revenue line. More than 10,000 claims in 2018, a stake of more than 7000 students a year and also had more than 50,000 graduates.

The corporation reckons it can take global students through a variety of stages – from supporting with English verbal communication courses to providing alleyways to university, from beginning to end their internships and degrees and full-time employment.

ECA maker and CEO Rupesh Singh bring the live field to hold up managers in Melbourne and Sydney late last week.ECA was inclined as a leading Australian education provider to global students. It said around 60 percent of students came from Nepal and India, while 20 percent were from the U, about 13 percent from Asian countries and others from sub-continental countries and 5 percent from elsewhere.

It is appealing that ECA’s chief clients are from Nepal and India. As we have recognized previously, students are inclined to be of inferior quality and are excessively represented in cases of educational misconduct, copying, and underperformance. Thus, agencies and providers like ECA could be indeed facilitating the deprivation of tertiary education standards as recognized in previous months expose.

Indeed, these types of outcome are accurately the consequences of Australia’s leading education system being commercialized, with global students being tortured as cash cows for pure profit.

On the whole, a system has been created where global students pay significant fees to efficiently purchase a precondition, often for the reason of gaining enduring citizenship or operational rights. In the procedure, both admission and education standards have been increasingly windswept to keep the information of intercontinental students flowing.
