How to Study for Exams in One Day?

You are here: Home / Blog / How to Study for Exams in One Day?

June 8, 2019 //  by Amit Kumar

When Exams are on the head students get hyper and panic a lot, which makes them forget everything which they have already learned and practiced before. This scenario becomes more stressful and scary if there’s only one day left for the exam.

Every task requires proper management and execution which leads to the successful completion of that task, same also goes with the exam preparation, and you can prepare for the test in 24 hours with proper strategy and right study material.

Here are some tips for you.

Table of Contents

  • Stay Calm and Cool
  • Give a glance to your notes
  • Make a list of important topic and look for their summaries
  • Use different tricks and mind maps to remember things
  • Study for the Final Test
  • Conclusion

Stay Calm and Cool

If you’re studying a day before your exam you must be stressed and panicking for the preparation, first step is for stopping you from the panic and make your mind relax and calm, believe in yourself that you can do it and give yourself 20-25 minutes, listen to music or do yoga, do anything which can distract your mind.

Give a glance to your notes

Gather your notes which are required and assemble them chapter wise your syllabus wise, take a blank notebook and pen with you to write the important highlights which will make your task easier.

Just go through the chapter names and the topic names in them. This will make you feel confident and you can now start your studies. Find a quiet place where you can start studying.

Make a list of important topic and look for their summaries

Accept the fact that you can’t study the whole course in one night. You can get an overview of the topics and learn the concepts behind them. Write your answers in your own language; no one has asked for the copy paste of your notes, the answers given in one’s own language shows that you know about the concept.

Summaries of topics are the real helping hand in this situation, notes given by professors or the summary books available in the market will make your work easier, some of the notes are given in only Q&A format which gives an idea of what type of questions will come in the exam.

Use different tricks and mind maps to remember things

Learning a lot of stuff in a very short period of time can be very dangerous if not done in a proper manner. Read and learn your stuff with pie charts, graphs, mind maps or any other visual aid, or you can go for learning in rhyming or songs. People also try re-writing, this is the most reliable technique of learning.

Study for the Final Test

After you have gone through the course once and written all the important in your notebook, one should solve last year test papers or worksheets which will give you an idea of question pattern and question-solving. Try to study this with your friend or classmate; this will give you alternate answers for one question.

Conclusion

  1. Make a list of important and key points.
  2. Look for summarised material.
  3. Make your notes in a systematic manner
  4. Learn with the help of rapid learning techniques or re-writing.
  5. Study with a friend
  6. Take help from summary books which have all the important Q&A
  7. Learn from last year papers and worksheets
  8. Take your own practice test.
