Exam time is a hard time for students as they have a lot to study but in limited time. Studying fast is required, but it should be effective too so that the result comes positive.
Students can get easily distracted, and it’s significant to keep them focused on their goal. How long you study doesn’t matter, but how real your study does matter. Nobody teaches you how to study, teachers will teach you the subject, but it is you who decides what way of studying suits your brain.
Let’s have a look at a few different ways to study effective and fast for the exams:
Use exam tips
Don’t limit yourself with the subject or notes search various sources to the same data with the help of technology. Information is well understood when different parts of the brain are activated. Create mind maps, solve problems, do online research, and go through notes are different tips to make up your mind for exams.
Sync school and home schedule
Make a habit of revising the notes on the same day when it is given in school. Revise the topic and prepare revision notes every day. Before tests or exams, brush up facts and memorize questions to prepare instant.
Never leave anything for the last minute; give yourself time to study and remember the subject. Partial studying or last-minute studying is not what you should do as preparation for the exam. Make a proper schedule on how to finish the portions. Write the time table and course to be completed in a paper and then decide how to complete the study in the remaining days. It is significant to organize your study habits.
Don’t study for a full day. In this way, you are blocking your brain. Study for 30 – 45 minutes and then take a short break of 10 minutes. In this way, the process of learning things will be better, and the result will be amazing. Try to exercise regularly as it is good for brain health. Take proper sleep of at least 6 hours. Don’t wait for exam days to come to start preparing for study. Start preparing early so that last-minute chaos is avoided. When you are fully alert, start with the subject that is most difficult to learn and keep the easiest one for that lazy time of the day.
Practice allotting time for each subject. Say, for example, you have four subjects to study then plan in a way that portion of all four subjects is covered every day. It will help you to learn faster and allow you to focus on all subjects. Studying one subject for a long time creates confusion. The brain needs more time to merge information, so study each subject every day.
Review of learning
Review the studies subject so that information can be moved from short term memory to long term memory. Review the subject studied in a periodic manner like after the first day of learning do a review of what u learned, after three days of learning do the 2nd review, 3rd review after seven days, and 4th review after 21 days and so on. This way, proper information will be gained and better grades too.
Feeling sleepy then sleep
Do not stress your brain to learn things when feeling sleepy. Sleep also plays an important role in learning things. If you do not take proper sleep, it can hamper your exam as well as your mentality. Sleep helps to shift information from short term memory to long term memory. In the day time also if you feel sleepy, take a nap for 15 – 20 minutes to charge your mind.
